Blackbushe

On the way into Gatwick yesterday morning, flyong over what I think was Blackbushe (as far as I can tell from Google Earth), there was some kind of large aircraft parked on the end of runway 26. It was also there a month earlier last time I went to Gatwick.

I'm not enough of a spotter to know what it was, but it appeared to have four engines, and seemed very big to be at a small airport.

Anyone any ideas what it is, and why it's been there for a month (or did it just happen to be parked in the same place?)

Thanks,

Steve.

I would think that it was Dunsfold that was below you and the aircraft was an ex-AAL B742.

Wasn't it BA? Anyway, Blackbushe is a loooong way away from Dunsfold. Dunsfold is where Jeremy Clarkson and the Top Gear team create chaos.
