Malaysian Airlines Aborted Take off 13/9/2006

Can somebody tell what the circumstances behind the rejected take off please or Malaysian Airlines 1200 departure from LHR. According to family member on-board, they taxied the aircraft to an "engineering" hangar to sort out, what the pilot described as a "technical glitch". And that was all the information they got.

Any help would be much appreciated

I believe the crew spotted a fluid leak from the port wing on the take off run.

Hi sorry for the late reply, i've only just seen this post.
The "technical glitch" was in fact due to engine #3 N1 going over its limit.

Thankyou for your reply.

The family member involved was my father, apparently they kept them on the plane while the problem was investigated, and eventully departed 3 hours late. Not bad if your in the first and business class cabins (father was in Golden club class/business) but must of been a bit on the tedius side if stuck back in cattle class
