Finally improved the cockpit windows. AB cockpits are louder than 757/767/777 in my experience due to the flat L2/R2 windows. And they kept on using them because they already had the design work, etc. The fact that they FINALLY changed shows the pressure from a better design.

And IMO Boeing was dumb to put the old 707 nose on the 737 NG. Would have been a much better cockpit with the 757 cockpit.

If Boeing had decided to replace the old 737 cockpit on the NG with a 757 flightdeck they may have then had too many changes to the airframe to get through certification on "grandfather rights". They were lucky to get away with a whole new wing!

I can't imagine the finished reult is going to be a copy -any more than you could accuse the 787 of "copying" its winglets and fbw from the A330.

Looks like in the end the airlines will be the winners in having a choice of two very nice aircraft.
