Just out of interest, the 747 parked at the maintence(?) facility the other side of the airport, is it the Iraqi flag on its tail? If so has the a/c been there since the war or is it about to start new services to the county?

Its to win a bet so any info would be welcome!!

I think it belongs to the Sultan of Brunei.

Certainly some years back he used to park it there.
Hope you get a more positive reply as I can't be 100% sure

There is also a couple at LHR from the Middle East all here for the sport of kings at Ascot. No doubt there are exec jets at other regional airports as well.

Most of the 747's we get over the ''Northside'' at Stansted do belong to the Saudi's etc.

There is a -200 series which has been there for over a year belonging to AFX (Air Freight Express) but they went bust and the aircraft has been grounded at STN ever since.

We had a USAF C-17 Globemaster in the other day which was pretty cool!
