Aren’t there trained firefighters rushing to the aircraft to do that? Not to mention the ground crew.
Isn’t the first thing to do is shut down , carry out emergency drills to fight fire using engine or APU fire extinguishing systems as required and then evacuate the passengers?

Many assumptions for a critical situation that may be or may not be. A jumpseater, a fire alarm not triggering in cockpit, a ground staff telling him there wasn’t a fire (or the other way around). I personally don’t judge this kind of situations with my butt sitting on the couch. It’s quite easy to blame when your life and others are not at risk under your responsibility. Firefighters were advised by the captain btw.

Where I work the FO is explicitly given the duty of coordinating evacuation from the outside and directing the passengers upwind of the fire, away from the flames, etc while the FA’s and CA make sure the plane is evacuated and coordinate from the inside.
Why do I feel like the Sun would blast a FO for simply doing the job the company and CA told him to do? There’s also plenty of reasons for a 4 bar CA to be in the right seat, LCA duties or a airline that allows/forces CA’s to fly trips as a FO.
Bottom line, inappropriate to roast someone with the word of a few drunk Brits on holiday and a zoomed out picture or two.
