Hi there everyone.

My boyfriend and I are dead set in moving to Spain but we're unsure if English would be spoken in regards to the maintenance side of things?

Any information would be helpful.

P.S Could you tell me if the cost of living is cheaper than Scotland?

Hi Sarah,

I'm afraid the main language used is Spanish, although some airlines (such as Vueling) use English. And if your activity is on light aircrafts, you may try the school in Jerez where I think English is also used.

The cost of living is generaly cheaper except housing, which is higher, particularly in Madrid and Barcelona.

But having said that, don't give up: Spanish is not that difficult to learn, especially technical Spanish and you will have such a good life in here.

Hi there, do you know any other English speaking airlines there or schools that would take my boyfriend on? He has some light experience on light aircraft (part of his course) Do you know how much experience is also necessary?

There is a flight school in Mallorca, and Sloane helicopters has also some helicopters there too (helicopter company based in UK but with a branch in Mallorca).

I don't think it will be a problem for your boyfriend to find a job since all manuals and working stuff is writen in english.

Which kind of aircraft is your boyfriend rated on?, experience?, knowing it may help readers answering you in a more precise way.

I wonder if have already bothered to give someone a bell, but few months ago ANS in Valencia-Manises was looking for someone in the tech-side ops, so...

Money was crap but I might be because it was a generic position. If you are rated it is gonna be better and the place isn't bad at all...

Hes got some experience on a bull dog with college but he has graduated this month and looking for work as an apprentice but we want to move to Spain ASAP but not sure how much experience he'll need before a company will take him. Any preference on what type of aircraft he should work on?

I know he's applied to Ryanair and Rolls Royce but Goodrich dont recruit till march.

Im Scottish not English and I could speak semi fluent Spanish. My family are half Italian.

My boyfriend is American, he can speak a little.

Hey, i love Spain i go there every year and my friends live there. I do make the effort when im over there.
Hence I want to be prepared before I move.

Try this school, a friend of mine went and he said it's really good. There is just a problem it's a bit expensive but teachers have a really good skills
