Given how quickly they rebuild Pad A and the associated GSE, don't think this'll be a huge blocker for them. Wonder if they'll go back to doing static fires on the old test stands....

Felix claiming a source inside says the wrong COPV was installed and it might not have been rated for full pressure...

VideoPossible recreation of the events that let to ship 36 anomaly. Great to see signs of investigating the failures.
The @NASASpaceflight McGregor Live cameras noticed an "observation" today, as what looked like part of a tank was launched into the air leaving behind a large cloud of gas. As with most of these tests we do not know if this was intentional test or not. A few seconds later, it was spotted falling back to the ground nearby. |
Elon: Launching again in ~3 weeks.
|
Gives a good impression of the size and mass of the disconnects which seem so small during a launch....
The CH4 QD for fueling super heavy boosters has been installed on pad 2 today. 7/19/25 https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....ef667ff039.png |
26th July.
Starship 38 is moving to Massey's test site tonight for initial cryogenic proof testing and Starship 37 is moving to the launch complex tomorrow night for static fire testing. |
Test aborted and ship defuelled - hopefully they;ll have another try today.
Second last V2 Starship. Ship 38 is the final Block 2 Starship prototype, slated for potential Flight 11 with Booster 15. It shares Ship 37's upgrades like engine insulation, preloaded joints, nitrogen purge, and enhanced propellant drain. Currently at Masseys for cryogenic proof testing after ambient pressure success on July 27; may skip flight if Flight 10 succeeds, focusing data on reentry and heat shields for Block 3 transition. Starship 37 on the pad 1 launch mount yesterday morning. Boca Chica beach and Highway 4 closed for Starship 37 testing.. |
First V3 Starship - Ship 39.
A forward flap has been installed on Starship 39's nose cone. This is the first flap installed on a next generation version 3 ship and is expected to launch for the first time as soon as late this year from the new Starbase pad 2. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....293e1cd08b.png https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....a5c2e018b0.png |
Tracking to launch Starship mid August.

Beautiful launch of Crew 11 seventeen minutes ago! Great camera angles and commentators who know their stuff! Excellent view of Falcon 9 RTLS - touchdown in the center of the landing pad! It is rather mind-numbing to think the the Brothers Wright first took to the air in powered flight a mere 122 years ago!

Starship 38 returned to megabay 2 overnight after completing cryogenic proof testing at Massey's test site and today the Starlink satellite loader moved into megabay 2 near Starship 38 likely for Starlink loader testing.

Ship 37 fires up in what should be the final SF ahead of Flight 10.
They will need to dismantle the mods to Pad 1 to allow the static fire before they can then full-stack B16 and S37 for launch. VideoMulti angle replay of Starship S37's 6 engine ~10 second static fire test on the Pad 1 OLM from @NASASpaceflight camera angles. Based on past tests, we expect S37 to next be removed and returned to MB2, while the Pad is prepared for flight configuration. |
The Starship static fire adapter has been removed from the pad 1 launch mount this afternoon clearing the way for test flight 10.

Dear ORAC, we who are "Spacenuts" are in your debt for keeping us up-to-date about the goings-on at SpaceX. Please accept our genuine thanks!
With Gratitude, - Ed et al :D |
Right! I could find out for myself via different channels. But I know I can rely on ORAC to pop up something if it is important and me just have to check this thread here, since I am at PPRuNe regularly anyway.

Do we have a date yet for the next "excitement guaranteed" event ?

Mid August. I'd expect the booster rollout some time next week for a static fire before mounting the Starship. |
Video Huh...well the modified Ring Wall Stand is headed back out to the launch site. Either this is for additional SF testing with S37, or maybe they changed their mind and decided to leave it out there for S38……
NSF reported that they are removing hold down clamps again 🤔 |
The FAA has released the Draft Environmental Assessment for Starship Super Heavy launches for Launch Complex 39A. Lots of pages and lots of documents in the project web page.
