Each country has a heritage, we should respect that and not force our views upon them. So Singapore has no female pilots, so that is that country way. Maybe some day that will change and that will be for the better, but that is a choice for the women there.

I have flown with female Captains, F/O's and F/E's. They are no different than men, of course one has to be a little more tactfull but so be it. They are as qualified or as un qualified as the rest of us. The only problem I have is when, a few, start demanding excessive rights because of their gender. I find it appaling, in the US, that women with a quarter of the experience of men are given preferrential hiring by the airlines. Meeting a certain quota is not my idea of fair play nor safety oriented. My beliefs :equal qualifications = equal opportunity. It really gets me going, when, the few, start demanding rights based on gender.

I find that the denial of PMT, by at least one of the female contributors, is self delusory.

Being able to admit that there ARE gender differences, would go a long way towards creating a better relationship between the sexes......then we can move onto something else...racism, poofter-bashing, smoking, drinking.

To deny that, as humans, we discriminate on colour, religion, language, sex, wealth, age, size, etc. etc., is denying the truth.

Posturing and political correctness on one side with misogyny on the other amply demonstrate that it is no longer possible to discuss this subject in the present climate. Enough is enough. Time to padlock this one, Danny.

I was under the strange illusion it was the year 2000. But that was till I read this thread. Can women do it? Are they strong enough? Won't they suffer from PMT and go off and get pregnant? Four pages of stuff I haven't seen in relation to women doing any kind of job for years and years and years. I was wrong - must be the year 1900.

Men are just jealous because women pilots can not only fly the plane as well (if not better) than men, but can look beautiful at 5am, have kids, and also do 3 things at once.
Lets face it, its a good job and men have just kept quiet about it for years, because they want to have all the fun themselves...
Lets face it, how long was it before women driving cars became a normal part of society? At first, it was only the men who drove - 'coz they wanted all the fun, obviously!
You know what men and their joysticks are like...

My only preference is that the pilots I fly with are human and know their stuff.

On the whole this thread just proves that pilots are fallible humans with all the foibles of the general population.

Gees, how many times are we going to read about pink skies?

If men were meant to fly, they'd have wings and feathers!
