AI let alone the DGCA at the very least owe those under their umbrella uncompromising professionalism, defined standards & respect. You say it's a generation gap? No. A red light means stop & green means go yesterday, today & it will tomorrow. How those cultural symbols are respected or enforced is what will mould a culture. Go to many third world countries & watch basic road rules laughed at & completely ignored: it's a direct result of the spineless support of social laws let alone legal norms.

This brat has has a real gripe. He has a real reason to be furious. I would be too. Any professional airman must. However it's not what we do when the chips are down but our integrity in the recovery. He chose a sanctimonious avenue. He disrespected the uniform he does not own. At best - like all of us - he's a custodian of it. He ridiculed & slated his peers in a cheap blind-sided slap showing shear & utter arrogance (the cabin crew for those still believing they are beneath you).

What next? A smart ar$e rap about engine failures just after V1? Because they really suck & can ruin your day plus you don't get paid anymore for dealing with them..... If you're so mad then talk with your feet, your standards & integrity. Too much for some who lack a lot of each. If you're so good, so professional & so full of honor then take them elsewhere. Truth is, you can't because nearly all airlines worth their AOC won't touch many, if any, AI alumni.

He's going to get (deservedly) in the **** with the Company by displaying the uniform and
its logo on a public site. Had he done so wearing civvies he probably wouldnt've copped so
much flack.

Whatever the wrongs of AI its sheer :mad: and he merits whatever's coming to him.

And I might add he's really :mad: up his chances of ever getting employed elsewhere - he
forgets the internet is forever!

Any reputable airline will place restrictions on when it's employees may wear uniform and how they may act.

It will also place restrictions on them speaking on the companies behalf, failure to follow those rules (which normally form part of the contract of employment and or OM-A / General Basic) would be grounds for dismissal.

This chap has done nothing to further his cause, and everything to bring the pilots of Air India into disrepute with the airline and quite possibly the public at large (seeing him a spoilt kid whining about dreamliners - yes he would of done well to keep the 787 out of his video!)

You think just because this guy made a video, he is the only one who feels that way.There must be many others who feel the same stress but have not expressed it yet.These guys need counselling , not dismissal.

All aside appreciate the entire issues of airline, loyalty and dissing, but in reality he at least had the guts not to hide behind a mask knowing what the ramifications would be.

One example that springs to mind is the strike action within the British Airways pilot group a few years ago.

Did they wear they uniform? No

Did they swear and use profanity whilst representing the company? No

This chap is not a professional, there is no justification for behaving like that.. Then again Air India is not a professional airline!

I'm sure his Dad is his connection and nothing will happen, that's how AI works.
