Language is a bit choice, but having not been paid for five months, it's hard not to sympathise with his position. However, with both AI and the Indian govt looking very angrily at his work, his future at AI may be rather short. (Hopefully not!)

Embarassing, if anything his internet connection and camera should be taken away. Poor lyircs and horrible flow in that rap. I've seen 12 year olds spit better flow than that.

Aside from the problems within Air India, wearing your uniform and then publically broadcasting profanities like that does nothing but bring our profession into disrepute.

I hope the DGCA take steps to cancel his licence (I think it would be within their remit in India to do so)

At the very least AI dispense with his services for gross misconduct.

His public outburst resembles a spoilt kid as opposed to an experienced professional.

Disgrace? really? I think its a disgrace not to pay pilots on time, its a disgrace the way Air India is run and its a disgrace how young pilots are being exploited. Obviously he is no Tupac but atleast he has the guts to state the truth. And come on, its just a joke! no need to cancel his licence. By your logic any satirist/cartoonist should be stripped of his right to express. Everyone knows how screwed up the Indian aviation sector is. I have seen the general trend in India that the experienced commercial pilots waste no time in ridiculing the young pilots. But as it turns out we are the future and you better accept it.

Aside from AI's shortcomings...

In any Western Airline if you wore your company issued uniform and then proceeded to make those statements you would be dismissed.

Remember, they own the uniform not you. They also dictate when and how it can be worn.

AI have masses of serious shortcomings anywhere from safety breaches that are nothing but deliberate negligence & fraudulent in nature to a safety and training culture built on nepotism, xenophobia and ignorance. Let's not forget the proud caste system!! BUT! There is also a "professional" time and place to air grievances and act on them. This fool chooses a self promoting avenue to attempt a side-line Bollywood audition (but for the inability to rhyme, compose, keep time or structure it seems....) He did manage to wear his tightest fitting tailor made shirt though.

You want to be treated like a professional then act like one. As this brat demonstrates, AI doesn't recruit or train many to that standard. Depending on who his father or relatives are, or the pocket he can line the fastest, will determine whether he stays or goes. Standards and professionalism have nothing to do with it at AI.

(Bet he won't be eating too many crew meals or drinking pre-opened drinks served by the FA's he just slated!!! Then again, he's dumb enough to not realise what he's done anyway.)

Why are the ignorant ones the first to pounce? Especially when the word "professional" is as alien to them as lift, weight, thrust and drag. Crap in = crap out. Yep. The system they defend and their attitude therefore absolutely stinks.

Well I don't see a Grammy award in Junior's future. Based on his age, he was aware the disorganization of AI. That said what is his justification for his rap? He could have gone elsewhere, unless nepotism played a role a role for his employment into AI.. Oh well $hit happens.

Who knows nepotism may not be enough for Junior to keep his Payless Job. Time will tell, I guess. I suppose he could have identified himself by name, you know, for future work in the music industry, that is. That said he can concentrate on his second career which may become his first one.

Everyone here writing against this pilot is a hypocrite. So what exactly is your problem with his rap? He is obviously not very talented but hes frustrated at not being paid on time, not getting to fly and has decided to use youtube and music to air his grievances. Obviously the 'professional' way of grievance redressal is not working. Is it the lyrics that bother you? Well haven't you ever cussed in your lives? You all bitch and moan here all the time about how bad things are and this guy is doing the same just using another medium. Please just think about it. You need to stand by this pilot instead of disowning him. Nobody has a copyright on what an ideal pilot should do in his spare time. This is joke and should be taken in that spirit. 'Don't shoot the messenger' as Arnab Goswami would say.
The whole of gen y is like this. Nobody can say weather its for the good or the bad. Every preceding generation things the successive one is jsut a bunch of nincompoops. Believe me your fathers generation had the exact same idea about you. So please learn to accept new things which might clash with your morals. Thats the only way forward. I see no reason to sack this pilot because hes young and full of energy and quite plausibly an excellent pilot too. He repeatedly says that he loves his company and its the higher ups in the gov that are ruining it for everyone.
People should discuss about the real problem of the way AI is run and just have laugh at this rap. Please have an open mind. An airline does not own you.:ok:

Why do we have to hide the ugly side at all possible costs... even if undermines the very existence of the organisation. Would we walk in for an interview to work for an organisation that basks in the the glory of its monopoly but doesn't promise you your salary. Yes, I do agree that another option is this lad quits Air India...but he simply chose to vent out in an effort to be heard.

Going by the philosophy of guys criticising the lad, there wouldn't be any revolutions against corrupt governments.

I think that Air India must feel the pulse at the grass root level and do something to get the wrong things right.

The dude should have avoided doing it while wearing his uniform. A light disciplinary action is called for. Cancelling his license would be a highly uncalibrated response. Not to mention that when he challenges such an action in a court of law, how would the DGCA justify itself. Which statue could be used to justify the cancellation of his license? Firing him would not be a feasible option either. The reason being that in spite of many people disapproving of his actions, whatever he said was in fact consistent with the public view of the airline management. Firing him would give the impression of a whistle-blower(sort of) being victimized. I don't think the politician and bureaucrats at the top want such an impression to be given out. Remember the public reaction when Mr. Bharat Bhushan was removed from his post as DGCA? The general public loves upright officers and whistle blowers.

If things at AI are really as bad as TopTup's posts suggest then the rapper perhaps did the right thing because if the management and the board(govt. appointed) are so "unprofessional" then the creditors and shareholders viz. the People of India should be made aware of the situation. The dude actually made a contribution to the improvement of corporate governance at AI! :D

At least show some respect for that uniform, many have worked hard to gain it. I ve worn that same uniform for many years in my life and felt proud in it everytime, treated it with all the respect it deserves but seeing this and what they are doing with it makes me sad and think everything is going down the drain in this profession .Wanted to slap his face when he turned that cap around and danced like an idiot. I will give all my credits to AI if they sack him which they should and (which he wants anyway!)

The uniform Commands respect and this so called CAPTAIN Anjum does not give it any. This is what happens when a preposterous spoilt kid gets hold of a shiny Dreamliner. :ugh:

Secondly, I couldn't take it beyond the first few seconds. The hook in the song was pathetic to say the least. My neighborhood owl makes a far more appealing noise than that :mad:
