Garuda Indonesia to Spend Rp 21 Trillion Next Year for New Planes

Garuda Indonesia said on Friday it will spend a total of Rp 21.4 trillion ($2.2 billion) to bring in 24 new airplanes next year to help achieve the goals of its Quantum Leap program.

The 24 planes include four Boeing 777-300 ERs, two Airbus 330-200s, 10 Boeing 737-800 NGs, seven Bombardier CRJ1000s and an Airbus 330-300.

“The price of a Boeing 777 is about US$150 million. An Airbus 330 is $100 million, a Boeing 737 is $50 million and a Bombardier is between $20 million and $25 million,” Garuda president director Emirsyah Satar said on Friday on the sidelines of the Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair 2012 in Jakarta.

He added that the new Boeing 777 and Airbus planes would be used to serve international routes, replacing Garuda’s aging Boeing 747 aircraft.

“Flights to Jeddah for minor hajj trips [outside of the normal hajj season] and other [international routes] will be served by our new planes,” Emirsyah said.

Garuda currently uses 95 airplanes that serve 32 domestic and 18 international routes.

In addition to the 24 aircraft, twenty other airplanes are expected to arrive by the end of the year, bringing the fleet's total number to 105. The average age of its planes is 5.8 years old.

Under its robust Quantum Leap expansion program, Garuda is targeting to utilize a total of 194 aircraft by 2015.

Garuda aims to serve up to 20 million passengers this year, including those flying with its subsidiary airline, Citilink Indonesia.

Emirsyah said the figure would represent a 17 percent increase in passengers, higher than the projected 14 percent growth of the global aviation industry this year.

Boeing Europe 12th Nov 2012 16:15

Whitemonk i had the same problem , make sure every file you attach is a JPG and is not bigger than 1MB and it works fine I have heard of nobody being contacted by them as of yet.....

cgwhitemonk11 12th Nov 2012 20:26

Boeing

Cheers for the reply, I got further this time with your advice, its actually letting me press the 'Apply' button... but its just continually 'loading' and not finishing!!!!!!!:ugh:

Stallone 13th Nov 2012 03:57

have you guys tried different browsers? ;)

heavy.airbourne 13th Nov 2012 05:25

You guys really want to fly for an outfit that is too incompetent to set up a little website, that is to stupid to hire somebody who can do it? :ugh:

South Prince 13th Nov 2012 09:11

Perhaps succeeding in completing the application is the first step of the screening process;)

cgwhitemonk11 14th Nov 2012 13:57

Seriously...

I originally used Safari, and have since tried Firefox to no effect... I keep getting it to load for several minutes and then just to go back to the last page as if I have never pressed 'Save and Apply'

Mad frustrating... can you upload a document more than once? All in JPEG format but some of my documents cover more than one of the questions they ask. Only other thing i can think of is they are Macbook incompatible and i need to use a windows PC...?

Boeing Europe 14th Nov 2012 15:04

Just make sure every one of your docs is not over the 1MB check the file size first I had the very same problem some files I could not reduce IE my medical so in that box I just uploaded anothe rpicture of my passport

Leunig 19th Nov 2012 07:41

Hi Boeing Europe,

I've been having the same problem, did you manage to send it just by reducing the size of the files?

Garuda CRJ

Hello guys,

Does anyone now the latest news of the recruitment for FO's on the CRJ 1000? And is the 1000+ jet hours really the minimum? Or are they going to be more flexible with this recuirement?

I have over 600 hours CRJ900 but not the 1000 jet

capt kickback 30th Dec 2012 09:39

Stay clear of this operation if you are an expat, poor salary and conditions & you will be doing max hours plus more!! not to mention the 2+ hour drive from CGK to your accom in the city after you have finished your 12 hour duty day!! poor rostering practices also prevail and the destinations you fly to will be the ones the locals do not want to go to!! Otherwise if thats what you are into go for it!! (you have been warned):=

Stick35 30th Dec 2012 20:12

Got recently from them the mail asking copies of my documents. Than got mail back that they were recruiting only locals.

Thats all i know.

JasperF 30th Dec 2012 22:38

"Locals Only" ?

"Thank you for your application for pilot position in Garuda Indonesia. To fulfill the requirement for qualifications please send documents as listed at the attachment for our review. We appreciate if we can recieve pending documents within one week from now so that we can proceed to the next phase of selection."

Received above email the other day. The link for the required documents did not work. Wonder if they tell me also "locals only"?

ArmApp 30th Dec 2012 23:04

I thought Susi Air had some clause in their contracts which prevented their pilots from working for another company in Indonesia for 2 years after end of contract? Don't know how the Susi is going to enforce this anyway if true??

PT6A 11th Jan 2013 13:10

I don't think that kind of clause is legal, SUSI is not exactly known for being totally legit anyway!

Docs

Does anyone had news from Garuda after sending requested docs pls?

Non rev 16th Jan 2013 05:15

Just got an email from the recruiting company that work closely with Garuda. They are asking me to send them the documents prior to January 25th, as Garuda will be holding screening for 700/900/1000 FO's. Here is the package being offered...

Contract Term: 2 years, with possibility of renewal
Base:
Makassar, Medan, Balikpapan, or Denpasar (subject to the airline's final approval)
Roster Pattern: 18 consecutive days off, after 3 months on duty
Monthly Payment:
* Captains - USD7,430
* First Officers - USD4,500

Overnight Per Diems: USD35 (payment for night stops away from base)
Overtime: Hours in excess of 80 hours per month will be paid at USD50 per hour for First Officers and USD75 per hour for Captains.
Accommodation: Excellent hotel accommodation provided for the first month, thereafter, a USD1,200 monthly accommodation allowance will be provided.

Please note that a differences training course will be provided by the airline to those who are rated on the CRJ700/900 prior to starting on contract with Garuda. A bonding period will apply.

Can any one please answer the following::

What is the income equivalent to spending in Indonesia? How are these bases Rate?
Is there any one here that currently works with Garuda? Upgrade time? What about moving on to flying the Buses or Boeings?

Non rev 16th Jan 2013 11:42

brasmelzuit 16th Jan 2013 16:42

for whar I know,

Apply to Citilink... they need 320 jocks...

PCLCREW 20th Jan 2013 23:57

keep getting called for the CRJ1000 as I have almost 5000 in the CRJ... The pay is a total joke, why not just come to the USA and fly the CRJ200 as the pay will be almost equal after 4 years.
You dont need to fly in a country where ATC is crap at best and live 2 hours from the airport for 6,000USD a month.
Oh ya almost everyday is atleast 12 hours duty and then 2 hours home and 2 hours back... this job is crap.

pilotchute 21st Jan 2013 05:04

6000USD a month!!! Are you living in the Presidential Palace?

Look here.

Sewa Apartemen | Apartment Disewakan | Jakarta Apartments For Rent

Nice 2 bed apartment near Plaza Indonesia for aroung 700-900USD per month.
