I spent a year in Taiwan, but I wasnt flying. 20% tax for the first 6 months and then reducedafterwards. If your rate is under 20% at the end of the year, you will do taxes like in america and get a refund. The key is to be considered living there. Up dont know the requirement for residency. Taipei is not so cheap if you want to live like you did back home and eat and drink like you are used to. If you like Chinese food and don't find it necessary to drink all the time, the costs go way down. School for kids will cost a lot unless they can go native. I'm not sure if they will hire foreigners into Kaohsiung, but it is way cheaper.
Does anybody know what kind of scheduling to expect if you don't want to commute? I personally loved living there and I would hate to whipsaw my bodyclock going back and forth each month. |
Any current expat FO on A330 at China Airline care to share info on working condition and QOL?
