Well, yeah! In Australia, aircrafts are generally categorised in accordance with the Max Take-off Weight. Fair enough.

As Cyril suggested, it is best to get this issue sorted out with the Dy Director of Licensing or any other reliable source before you jump onto the seat.

cyrilroy21 8th Jul 2011 09:40

It would be very insane if DGCA considers only P68C and not any other variants of P68.
Thats not the only thing that is insane within the DGCA :*

What I cant understand is the concept of issuing licenses that are specific to one a/c only ( type rating if you must ) for a/c with AUW under 5700 kg

Even according ICAO Annex 1 the category and class ratings are Single Engine Land , Multi Engine Land , Single Engine Sea , Multi Engine Sea for a/c with AUW upto 5700kg

IF the DGCA had made it like the above rule then issue of aircraft recognition wouldnt be there in the first place and woulnt be having this discussion

Lots of people would be allowed to fly aircraft that are cheaper to rent ( for eg duchess , seminole etc )

It would also play a small role in promoting general aviation in India

If we can get this rule changed I am sure that would benefit all the pilots in India....

I completely agree with you guys.

+1 CyrilRoy :ok:

I think Mr Bharat Bhushan has the potential to make good changes, lets see how it goes.

I was going thru Aircraft Registration Enquiry in DGCA website, was simply searching the P68 and i came across a strange thing.

Yash Air owns 2 P68C. VT-TAC is a multi piston engine aeroplane but VT-TAI is a single piston engine aeroplane.

When i searched for the details of these 2 aircrafts, i read that Aircraft Name, Type and Model of these two aircrafts are all same... P68C

How in the world is this possible? I always knew that Partenavia or P68 is a Twin Engined Aeroplane regardless of whether it is P68B or P68 C or P68R ETC.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

cyrilroy21 9th Jul 2011 07:44

The DGCA screws up the details of the aircraft quite often

They once listed the DA 42 as a single engine airplane :ugh:

smurf84 9th Jul 2011 15:05

The DGCA is very capable of that 'intentional' error. Maybe one of the airworthiness babus inspected VT-TAI and spotted a faulty engine. Then he goes - "Hang on! Only one engine is operational, so I'll mention in the registration details that VT-TAI, the P68C is 'single-engine'!"

That was a bad one.

flaps13 9th Jul 2011 18:29

final word?

so what is the verdict .....they screwed dutchess and now the seneca toooo...what if all the twins in india goes down .....then what? stop issuing multi license and fly only the single engines .... wow feeling so cursed to be with the DGCA retards :{:ugh::\:sad::=...

Is seneca good ? or is it got be the seneca 5 to be exact ....

flaps13 9th Jul 2011 18:35

can the 10 hour flight training in another twin be counted for the 15 hour PIc time for DGCA recency .... i'm about to make some decision rather than waiting,, help me out people please.

thanks in advance guys

smurf84 9th Jul 2011 18:53

Adding to that - Aren't those 10 hours training on the twin-engine to be flown with an instructor on board? Shouldn't they be logged as dual? As per the DGCA conversion chart,

"Statement indicating at least 10 hrs of training on multi engine aircraft for which endorsement is requested (including test/ check)"

The answer is ... by GUESSING and SPECULATION of others.

Seriously ! Thats how it works in India the great ! :} :D

abhimakam 11th Jul 2011 10:11

Are u sure there aint' another way? wat abt the active aircraft register on the DGCA website?

cyrilroy21 11th Jul 2011 10:27

On the DGCA website on right part of the page you should be able see an option called C of A entry by operators

I'll post a link also just in case you cant find it

New Page 1

abhimakam 11th Jul 2011 22:52

Thanx buddy.

avicon 22nd Jul 2011 02:22

Instead of cursing the Bihari who did the wheels up landing, if 50 of us pool in and contribute Rs 10,000 each we could have enough money to fix the aeroplane for the poor Govt of Bihar, couldn't we. And have teh CoA and registration reinstated.

Has anyone thought along these lines?

rahulred5 22nd Jul 2011 02:31

How about a better idea.

Pool in the money not to pay for something which in civilized places around the world would absolutely guarantee you a good laugh but instead to initiate legal action on behalf of all BE76 pilots against the DGCA.

And what happens if the Bihari again forgets gear down after you pay to fix his mistake ??? Pay up again ???

flyboyaviatior 22nd Jul 2011 11:37

aviator

well... has anybody's license been rejected a BE76 Endorsement? because i heard they are still issuing license on BE76. The problem faced now is with the intrument rating on indian CPL. DGCA have started asking for MEIR endorsed in foreign license for conversion instead of the IR training hours and checks.:ugh:

smurf84 22nd Jul 2011 13:00

Since when? Is that a new rumour doing the rounds? Has anyone been rejected a ME-IR on the Indian CPL due to that reason lately?

avicon 27th Jul 2011 02:47

I am not suggesting that we pay to fix the mistakes of someone else. I am only saying that we do this in solidarity and to not give in to the whims and fancy of the despicable DGCA. I do not see taking them to court on this issue to be fruitful. So this is the only way to 'defeat' them while at the same time get our job done for a fraction of the cost compared to getting endorsement on another aircraft.
