Singapore Airlines to lease planes to Air-India

SINGAPORE, July 11 (Reuters) - Singapore Airlines Ltd said on Friday it had signed a deal to lease two A310-300 aircraft to state-run Air-India for three years from December 2003 and February 2004.
The airline did not provide any further details.

In April Singapore Airlines said it would phase out its 12 Airbus planes, including the 183 seater A310-300s, by June -- five months earlier than planned as the SARS outbreak hit travel demand.

The airline plans to replace them with B777 aircraft from Boeing Co , and the super long-range A340-500 aircraft from Airbus, although these are on order and have not been delivered.
