Hi Guys
Wanted to find out what the guys at Peach are looking at in the Interviews. I believe all slots have now been changed to Skype Interviews.
Any Info would be appreciated.

I am not a Peach Pilot but do fly in Japan and pay Japanese Tax as a resident... You will pay Natl, Prefecture and City taxes... Those come to about 36% for me and Peach pay is about the same... The tax rates are tiered so the more you make the more you will pay... If you plan 36% you will be in the ballpark... NHI the health Insurance tax runs about 990,000 JPY a year, think Peach picks up half... It also is a tiered tax but all pilots in Japan get to the max tax, the 990,000 was last year and it also increases with ones age I believe... The "Pension" tax I am not sure which one they will enroll you in... We are in the "low" wage sector one and it is 16,000 JPY a month, mate at Vanilla was in the high wage sector and was 55,000 a month... Want the low end if possible because the chances of getting your money back on departure is remote... These numbers are only my personal experience check with a tax pro is recommended for exact numbers... Best of luck...

Hi. I seriously doubt if any of the Japanese operators would hire or conduct interviews these days. Cutting back their fleet, getting rid of foreigners (who mind you are holders of japanese licenses) are the new norm. Even if hiring restarts in a year or two it will be for JCAB license holders initially. The latter is the bottleneck of all: training can take up to 6 months to a year thus i doubt if japanese operators will look at non-JCAB licensed pilots at all in the future. Cheers.

According to my friends at Jetstar Japan there was a massive difference (3+ months) between type rated non-JCAB and non-type rated JCAB applicants. In any case it will be interesting to see what will happen with for example the ex-AJX guys as both Peach and AJX are part of the ANA group.

I know a few first officers who have been let go from AJX, their recruiting company gave them a presentation for peach a few weeks ago. It seems like they might have a chance there, but they seem hesitant to take it as they are worried that it will "disqualify them" from returning to AJX in a few years. I hear what you are saying about the eastern operators not hiring foreigners for the foreseeable future. However I'm currently furloughed and I have too much free time, trying to build an interview gouge for peach in the meantime, so would still really appreciate any information that anyone is willing to share about the interview process there, more specifically from anyone who has been through the Skype interviews or simulator assessment.

Curious to know if anyone here has done either the sim or the interview with Peach lately.
And if so, when did you apply initially please. This is for NTR non JCAB DEC.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks J.nips, I guess it would make sense for them to follow that route for as long as they can. Hopefully the Industry will pick up over the next two years and these opportunities will be available to expats as well.
