Living in India for over 3 and a half years... one learns to take articles written by so-called jounos associated with Time of India and Hindu Times with a grain of rice.
That said A-3, I can choose to be sarcastic, obtuse or any combination thereof as I so desire.
Just out of curiosity... A-3... where and how many years have you lived in India?
I hope that answers your question, observation, or an attempt to sling a barb at me.
All the best

I have PA'd the wrong destination more than once and laughed it off, as have the passengers. To top it all off, have mentioned my gratitude for flying with my former airline....... And laughed it off.
Defense of the indefensible. HA!!!!
Stop making mountains out of molehills.
I can't spend my duty time pandering to paranoid delusions of generally ill informed passengers. Telling a passenger to bugger off might not be the wisest response but best not to exaggerate. Let's leave that to the media.
Enough said???

How does living in India make this a relevant issue?
The discussion is not about where it happened but what happened.Given teh focus on pilot mental health across the world I was merely trying to point out that incidents like these will only hasten the knee jerk reaction already being kicked about in the media and amongst regulators.
Of course ,you can choose to be or say whatever you want.So can I.
Defensive much?

AV8R ,
Your response was appropriate. You made a joke out of it and your passengers saw the humor in it.This Captains response was not "ideal". Now he is in hot water with the airline and the regulator. As always the media is going to town with it, which is expected, not just in India but all over the world.
If you think I am criticizing the Captain for the wrong PA you are wrong.I think the title to this thread was self explanatory.Apparently not.
As to why I am making a "mountain out of a molehill" please read my response to Captjns.
How soon we forget......

....and bugger off'
After doing strings of XXX-YYY-XXX sectors in a row who hasn't accidently said YYY on the PA when you're on your way to ZZZ? Big deal but it should be corrected diplomatically.
As for cockpit punchups this is extremely unprofessional. It should be best left to the car park afterwards then down the pub for the kiss and make up beers. Standard streetwise CRM.

There is no news here, some journalist has tried to carve or create one out of thin air.
Because if this kind of events started to qualify as news, then one can easily start a new aviation tabloid, have a journalist (so called) sit in the arrival lounges at the major airports and ask for the stories from the arriving passengers as to how their day went..
There will be more than enough material & one could publish it daily with a whole bunch of gossip & some pics of flight crews and it will sell well..
Hey, might as well throw some pics of some celebs & say these people flew from Del to Mum today....

Luckily the journalists dont listen to Indian ATC frequencies... then they would be able to witness the pure arrogance of some of the Pilots ...like the AI guys coming out of VOTP the other day I heard demanding to know the names of the ATC controller as he had allowed a charter flight to depart before them... then they refused ATC's request for the Captains name, they said its on the flight plan... but ATC came back and said Captains name is blank on the flight plan...still they refused.
I do love when ATC give the offending pilots delaying vectors or speeds when they get arrogant on the radio...
