Interesting fact the reporter comes up with - Sukhoi jets move at 9 nautical miles an inch!

As you've all probably worked out, I'm not a pilot (but have flown microlights); surely the IAF pilot would have been able to tell whether he was continuing to climb even if his altimeter wasn't working?
