Capt recruitment for Loin Air.

I saw that lion air are hiring capt with NG type. with Rishw.... and Aeroprof.. offering around 9K plus travel allowance of 400usd per month. 10wks on 2wks off.. housing included.. BUT you be working to the extreme for the 10wks. 5/6 days on 1 day off with majority of 9hrs rest time (includes transport and from airport to hotel etc.

I heard that most capts. have exceed there hours, around 40 capts will stop flying by the end of this month. so running bout 2/3 set per aircraft.

FOs are also leaving. but lion are not as worried as losing Capts. since they have cadets etc.

For those thinking in joining Lion Air, please check visa conditions before doing anything because they just came out with a company policy where you have to get aproval from the Chief Pilot to leave the country, otherwise inmigration will stop you at the airport.
Once you get this aproval that could take 7 days or more and only then they will issue an exit visa.

If you have an emergency in your family you wont be able to leave.
The other thing you have to consider is how unsafe is the operation, extremely desorginized and you will have to deal with locals for training.
Crew transport is terrible, no meal allownces when on layovers and will do 4 nights layover a week. Once you get out of Jakarta food is the worst if you can find some specially when you arrive at midnight.
You will regret going there almost instantly.

Sorry and sorry, if we talk about flying and or not giving comments on a certain airline , as here Lion .... Fair enough , but keep it to the flying . Any airline these days is kind of " using " it's staff , OK ! Then , if you did choose to join an airline as Lion ..... Do not always go moaning about every detail etc such as training etc .....if you an aviator you should know the kind of airline you joined . Lion Air never did put a gun on your head to join them....it is simply you who decided to make that step as a P2F or a pilot who need to fly to earn some money etc..... But it was only you who decided to join this or that airline ..... But the really sadest thing you even can say that the food outside Jakarta is bad .... Makan di Indonesia .....bad ??????? Have you ever been there ?????? Is this your first country in Asia or SE Asia cos believe Makan Indonesia is simply ENAK ENAk .....
So I am sorry yes you will not have you simple hamburger but then stay in your country ....
Because you might have bad / neg experiences with a certain company does not allow you to say the food outside Jakarta is bad etc .... Ok and sorry Bali ....Jakarta food is really much better but it is still great to enjoy Balinese food ..... Selemat makan !

What Shabu Shabu are you on today Cap? ... apparently did your 160 hrs this month and decided to post on this forum under influence? Gilaaaaaaaa !

p.s. YES, the new VISA block is again an issue since everyone is running away to Turkish. This rule was also implemented by Lion between 2009-2010 and removed when some Army Generals (friends with some good-hearted local capts) got the smell of it how Lion was taking the pilots hostage in Indonesia. WELCOME TO INDONESIA, if you enter as pilot, there is no return OUT for now! STUCK in the country until the Chief Pilot let you pass the doorman.

Wake up and smell the coffee, selamat pagi, happy landings for your 161st hr today. seratu ribu rupiah extra flightpay!

*p.s. 2 hope some local capts put up the pressure on Lion again to release those blokes who are being held in the country.

Well well , maybe I expressed myself wrong way but seems ..... Some guys really offended or oeps I should start checking every word I am using .....
Maybe you guys are overworked or what but then it is all up to you , it is your life . Nobody or any country just can keep you as a prisoner , etc .... i was only replying about the post of one of the Lion (?) expat guys who suddenly start saying Indo food is not avial or bad on his/ her layovers . First . Is Indo food bad or ..... i believe in Indonesia there is plenty of food ! And yes I do know Indonesia . And the other side , yes no company does hold you as a prisoner , it is only you who signed a contract or any agreement ..... And really sorry ....I do not need to fly those silly hours you talking about .
Instead of complaining complaining of the deal you made ....just try to enjoy a bit of the time you there .....

@highandlow, the places where the crew usually takes you for indo-streetfood are actually usually NOT that good, believe me. Kicking rats away when eating coto makassar what was made god knows when. Good luck separating from the crew to look for food on your own in a small town at 23:00.
Did we choose for it, yes, do we always enjoy the food, NO.

@Gtr21 , You will fly on a crewlist, so as crew it does not matter if you have single entry etc. BUT when you want to leave on your own you get stopped at the immigration and cannot pass.
When this happened in 2010, from friends there, the only way to get passed this issue (without dealing with Lion) is to get evacuated out by the embassy on a special visa.

OR It happened on flights to Singapore that some FO's went out on a 'smoke' in the Terminal, and never returned, being backed up by the embassy in Singapore....No F.O. to fly back . They solved that with putting the expats on Local Indonesian flights only, problem solved.

Some embassies in Jakarta just told the guys "Welcome to Indonesia, the corruption is so bad, we can't even help you at the time''.

Are you serious ? I have been all over Indonesia and the food is better the further you move away from Jakarta. Medan has a big variety and my favourite cuisine comes from North Sulawesi where the food is generally quite spicy.

.if you an aviator you should know the kind of airline you joined .....

What are you talking about man ?

Regarding the food issue, there is a reason why expats loose weight when flying the line. It is because the Lion inflight meals, even a dog will refuse to eat it.
Most of the expat pilots don't like local food, that is a fact.
Your second option is western fast food, which it is not good for your health either.
It is not my first contract in Asia.
I was just trying to warn you guys about this contract, the food issue is nothing compare to the safety issues.

forget eating..Might see a rape case in the future..

tODAy... I heard that a Indian FO molested a flight attendant (grabbed her breast) on the way home to Taman Anggrek in Lion transport. Lucky the driver was there stop the molestation.

What i heard is that this FO see all FA as prostitues and treat them as such. I wonder what his wife think about a rape case..
