They're based at Cirebon .. Cakrabuana Tower can be contacted on 122.1 .. (joke) ..
In all seriousness, Wings Flying School is owned by Lion Air so you could probably get through to the school by contacting Lion Air head office. Capt Reddy was the DFO when they were about to start up the school .. don't know whether he's still in charge of the flying school or not.

I think Wings Flying School only caters to local only, it is basically for Lion cadets, not open to public and the instructors are from Lion too.
You want to try a Indonesian license try the other flight schools, Halim, Bali. getting a Indonesian license does not guarantee you a job in the country, because you are a still a foreigner. Besides you dont need a Indonesian license to get a job... just money..for type rating. you are required to get the license after 2years stay in indonesia. Save your money for the typerating...instead..

NO licence conversion, which means you work with licence validation. Contract up, you leave.
Mark my words: NO Indonesian Licence = hard to get an Indonesia airline job.
Please do NOT work for a school that does not offer license conversion.
With license being converted, if end of the day, you get sacked or leaving for another company, you will still be marketable with DGCA License at your hand. With Indonesian DGCA Licence at your hand, your priority in any Indonesian airline employment application stands out 100 times better than their own Indon citizens and foreigner!
The current trend for foreign FIs employment IS always bargain with the school to have licence converted! Remember, no licence converted, do not work! Do not be silly wasting your time working for a flight with no license conversion.
Look at those working for BIFA. Pathetic foreign FIs! Once they finished their job, they have to return to Australia and NZ. Yea...many of them are Aussies. No forgetting, Bali is a mini-Australia now.

Endorsement by LIFT
Hi, things has changed.
LIFT now vlidate their instructors for the first year.
For those hard working and loyal to the School, they offer endorsement during second year contract. It is not a must but is written in their Employment Agreement "...... at discretion of the School."
Then, the School also promised a good reference letter for those performing so they can look for a job. Only for those performing and not those who ask for 4 stars hotel (which is where they stay now in Lombok) and refuse to fly when there is clouds in proximity (any way, will there be no clouds?)
If you are hard working, they can drive you like crazy with over 100 hours a month and 1,000 hours a year. Pay is not bad, if you reach that high, over USD3,000 take home money.
Heard they will add new Satellite Base soon in East Java where the best hotel is 3-Stars.

Well, it is after tax and all these hotel, meals are extra benefit. So Droste, if you say, USD2,000 for zero hour instructor (local) and USD3,000 for hard working one is "so-so", then you need to know how those US Instructors waiting everyday in Flight Schools and Flying Clubs for luck to come by.
They had one FI already finished a contract, got a good reference and interviewed with Air Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific and American Airline. He is now working in a Regional in US.
I heard, but need to confirm, they now have four FI having endorsement with DGCA. So, I really feel surprise if people say they never.
But they are demanding and ask for discipline. So, if you think of Bali liftstyle, do not apply. But it is not a concentration or slavery camp. So long as you are willing to work, they let you log time quick. Their standard is 80 hrs a month but can be as high as 120 hrs depending on you. No pain, no gain.
Want a relaxing life. DON'T GO THERE.

LIFT Lombok:
They are still grounded. They do not have flight instructors. My friend was instructor with them and he was really unhappy:
- Most of the flights is ppl training. - There is not an FTM neither a clear syllabus to work with. The structure of the school is not well stablished. Many operational problems. Work is more then only flying, it's almost running a flight school.
- The flight time he got was minimum, compared with his duty time per diem. - The conditions of the aircraft are very bad! Many problems and defects, apart of the dangerous fuel contamination problem.
- Many complaints with a really unprofessional maintenance. - The owner is an unpleasant person, unprofessional. He pushed instructors to fly with fuel contamination that produced several engine failures. They refused to fly in this condition, and he fired all of them recently.
- Wings Fliying Academy:
- If you apply as student, contact Lion Air training center.
- If you apply as Instructor and you are ExPat, I am almost sure you will not be happy with the salary.
About Jobs in Indonesia:
If you are ExPat. I warn you; even with Indonesian license, you will not be hired. New government regulation requires at least 250 hours ON TYPE for ExPats.

Lombok Institiute of Flight Technology
Be careful entering into an employment agreement with this company.
An instructor recently had a chance to look at the maintenance logs. He decided to leave Indonesia and return home. Unfortunately he was stopped getting onto the aircraft at Jakarta by immigration because he did not have an exit permit in his passport that allowed him to leave the country.
The exit permit can only be applied for by the company and the owner wanted $3000 (to cover his flight and work permit costs) before they would help him to leave.

LIFT Status
I know students and management in the school real well.
From what I know (and confirm after photographic, and videographic evidence, as well as a view in the Maintenance Log, the Aircraft are all in tip-top shape. The problem the entire time was fuel vaporization in the FI lines (and has been confirmed by TCM (engine manufacturer)), and is now fixed.
Shoot me a private message for more information, as at the moment ex FIs are running around that place spreading crap thats not even true about the school.

Lombok Institute of Flight Technology - LIFT
I was an instructor at LIFT until recently.
We suffered numerous power loss problems in all three of theaircraft over the last 6 months. At first the power loss incidents were onlyonce a week until November when we were experiencing problems almost everyday. At that point, we had no choice butto stop flying the aircraft. Unfortunately, management did not appreciate thesafety issues involved and we were all told that if we did not continue to flythe aircraft we would all be fired from our jobs.
Management were advised back in August 2012 that the problemwas caused by the fuel they were using and that they needed to import fuel fromsomewhere else such as Australia. Unfortunately they did not act on that adviceand fuel from Australia never came.
I have never met Denis as he had already left by the time Ijoined the company, but he is right to say that LIFT is an unsafe operation.
The chief mechanic wrote an email to the owner Mr EdmondFung on 2nd Septemebr 2012 and said...
“Honestly, we (maintenance department) are a lack ofexperience to maintain piston engine”
Paul Everitt (Liberty Expert and Consultant to Mr Edmond Fung)wrote to Mr Fung on 20th August 2012 and said
“Lives are directly at risk because of this situation. If wecontinue to use bad fuel and then have an accident as a result of this, LIFTwill have no way out in any legal case, as it will be entirely our fault”.
He also wrote ......
“So there is no doubt that they (BP Australia) can supplygood 100LL Avgas at less cost that what we are paying now, although shippingetc will add to it”
There is also photographic evidence of the ‘contamination ofthe fuel’ and a audio clip of the owner (Edmond Fung) admitting there is a ‘problemwith the fuel’ from a meeting I had with him on 7th December 2012.
The purpose of my post is to give you information and not simplerumour.
If you are thinking of going to LIFT as an instructor, youwill be flying aircraft that suffers from ‘power loss’ on an almost daliy basis, and a management team that will force you to fly the aircraft regardless of howunsafe it is. You will also find yourself unable to leave the country withoutfirst paying between $3000 - $4000 back to LIFT to cover the cost of yourflight, work permit and medical. There is a Russian instructor there now who ishaving this problem and he is still unable to leave after 1 month of trying toget out of Indonesia.
If you are thinking of going to a LIFT as a student, youwill be joining a flight school with more than 40 students who need in excessof 8000 instructional hours with no flight instructors in an unsafe trainingenvironment. Even if the aircraft were airworthy and they imported fuel todayand they found 6 instructors overnight, it would take the company almost 1 yearto clear the backlog of students before you started your flight training.
Myself and the other instructors are currently suing LIFTfor wrongful dismissal. This is not abuse or rumour. Our case is based on factand I certainly would not employ a lawyer if I did not have a strong case totake to a court of law.
If you would like to see the emails, photos and recordings concerningthe operation there, send me a PM and I will forward the documentation to you.
