City and U
I was interviewed at both of these wet dreams and played their games.
Both are trying to capture the Asian tourist market. Skyways in SRE is doing a little better, but now is handicapped by their new DFO. Seems he flys as capt, but is also a senior manager with the Cambodian government aviation office. His drive in life is to replace expats with locals, most which we're fired by other Asian carriers for incompetence.
City is slow to start up because Thai DCA does not want expats and Thai Airlines does not want competition. U air suffers the same problems. City air salary is low. U air is high, they will figure this out soon enough.
Both experienced start up issues and are now operating, but far far below their projections. As well, getting a thai license as an expat takes a norm of two or four months.
Both city and u started last spring and introduced service below their projections and several months later than planned.
But if u do go with city out of dmr, there is a little gal in the coffee shop across the street in the da dmk hotel that is major ready to hook up. Hold on to your wallet ToTo.

No shortage of dodgy, flash in the pan start ups in Thailand. There's a couple of B767s which have had about three different logos on them in the last five years.
Even established operators such as Orient Thai don't have the best of reputations.
If you've retired, have a good pension and go in accepting it's an adventure and you probably won't get paid then why not. Even if you're currently unemployed there are far better options out there and as for resigning from a job

captain
I worked at city airways and left , never received any salary,
they never answer any emails or phone calls,
fellow crew members watch out for the city airways in Thailand.
