Malaysia Airlines

Hi All,

I am 737 Fo with a good bit of time on type I was wondering is there any chance of getting into MAS as an expat I sent my CV to their recruitment e-mail,do they hire expat Fo's....? I have seen via pcc they have about 40 737's

Very low chance as DCA is not entertaining any conversion of foreign licences for FO.

no chance.

all Malaysian operators will not hire foreign FO due to DCAM regulation. Better go to indonesia if u want to work at SEA.

Indonesia not taking any direct entry experienced FO's at the moment I have tried lion air and I got an e-mail back saying that i would have to contact eagle jet which means I wouls obviously have to pay to fly and I aint doing that

@BE : yes, they do. Try other B737 operators such as Sky Aviation, Merpati, Sriwijaya, Express, Citilink. But the money is on local term..

The problem is any one who can afford a light aircraft and has the right connections has started up a flying school, resulting in a glut of freshly minted CPL in the market.

To 'help' resolve this issue, the goverment's typical knee-jerk reaction is to freeze conversion of foreign licenses...

Now isn't that nice...

Most dont have the time.. since these new CPL guys and girls only have 250hrs... there is no time building for these guys in malaysia unlike the USA.. I guess most dont want to be flight instructors or turbo prop driver most want be behind a320...

Sadly there are a lot of CPL guys in malaysia..a few years ago when UNcle TF had planes coming and it expanding its network.. it was easy..ish to get a job with AirASIa and MAS.. Now the TF has halted his expansion. and MAS is in trouble.. (some how back in the RED again) the bubble has burst. So thousands of CPL are waiting for uncle TF..to enlist them.. always there is a job as a flight attendant in AA.. walkin interview..

there is not much out there... maybe MASWING..(if know someone) transmile berjaya air. but slim pickings..


OK I thought of one... try SUSI AIR in indonesia.. they always looking for pilots even CPL. SHe is actually getting more planes.. u get paid in USD and free housing...


even Qatar (second officer) program requires:


Second Officer (Fast Track)

Valid ICAO ATPL or Frozen ATPL (ATPL Theory Passes/Credits and MCC)
Valid Class one medical
English language proficiency level 4 or greater.
Not older than 40 years at the time of joining Qatar Airways;
Experience commensurate with age;

Meets the flying experience listed below:
A Minimum of 1000 hrs on a modern multi pilot, multi engine, turboprop aircraft greater than 12,000 kg MTOW; or
A Minimum of 300 hours on a multi engine, multi crew jet aircraft; or
A Minimum of 1500 hours on a multi crew multi engine helicopter;
A Minimum of 2000 hours Pilot in Command on single engine, single crew aircraft .



Flydubai...

B737 type rated first officers

B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) endorsed within the last 24 months.
At least 1,500 hours total flying time.
At least 500 hours on B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) type aircraft.

Non-B737 type rated first officers

First Officers – must have 2,500 hours total flying time, of which 1,000 hours must have been gained on modern (EFIS) multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft over 10 tonnes operating weight (preference will be given to those with PIC time).



Always can try your luck with Cathay pacific cadet.. its like winning 4D..

To the one who said DCAM doesn't approve foreign conversions - they don't have to. DCAM issues validation as long as the airline justifies the hiring of said pilot. Conversion is only required if you need to do training here, eg for a type rating.

To the one who said Malaysian operators don't hire foreign FO due to DCAM regs - crap. MAS has had foreign FO for the last 8+ years and more recently had nearly 40 guys. AirAsia has some crazy number of expat FO so get your facts straight. MASwings even has a few on ATR and currently are pretty desperate for Twotter crew. The gist of the regs is that Malaysian AOC holders must justify the employment of every foreigner before validation is signed off.

To any expat considering MAS currently for employment - forget it. If you've not been following the news lately they're on the back-side of the profitability curve and just sacked all their foreign pilots. A limited number of foreign cabin crew also let go and MASengineering is in the process of extensive culling of expat engineers - both casual and contract. Sad times all round.

MASwings is looking for rated guys. AirAsia and AirAsiaX are always on the prowl if you are 'Bus rated.

Saw the MW twotter last night in Miri. wouldnt mind go back and fly that but as fighting another Company over there so called bond wont get a letter of release for Immigrasi.

Someone said to try Lion air , but I contacted them and they replied quite quickly directing me to the website of eagle jet , deos anyone know if it is possible to join direct entry 737 rated and experienced fo without paying for hours...?

NO direct hire for lion.. they stopped direct FO hire since the 2010.. now only through agency... take your pick... BUT stay away from MSD...

ONLY direct hire.. is CAPTs and TRE/TRI

any particular reason why you don't recommend MSD, from my analysis,they seem a lot cheaper than Eaglejet etc.??

BY the way, would you know of the process of getting inducted into Citilink or Garuda subsidiaries, ESPECIALLY FOR NON-TYPE RATED people?

I know about FlyGosh posting about possibilities for Type-rated with zero hours on type. But lately I've come across agencies like Glorietta , Avia(India) that recruit non-typerated for a BIG some of money,almost USD65000!!

anyway of confirming the authenticity of this procedure with the Airline staff with the appropriate email /phone??

CRippper... The reason i caution you about MSD, is that the program is the worst p2F program.. cater to the indian pilots. Most are not happy with the program.. because MSD KEEP YOU FLIGHT PAY which can add up to 2000USD if you are a hard worker.. you get to keep the basic salary of 2000USD 1 yr, 2300yr 2nd yr and if you can survive 3rd yr 2600USD.. and share your apartment with 2 others...so 3 cosy pilots in a small apartment.

this MSD is also in talk with citilink.. but may have problems. they are Charging 80oooUSD with typerating to fly with citilink.. and only pay these pilot 1000USD per month, no housing NO CONTRACT. What I heard there is a waiting list and there a big group already in training in JKT, in JATC. but without any proper documentation ( immigration visa, they are using tourist visa to carry out training etc.. which is not allowed) Anyhoooooooooo

LION pays MSD then MSD pays you after they deducted there cost..

Where as Eaglejet and California, after you completed the program of 500hrs.. you are given a contract with lion, you earn salary and flight pay.. like a local contract pilot. It impossible for a 4 or 5 yr straight contract in indonesia. contract is only 2/2/1yr which becomes 5yrs. so you can leave after 2yrs..

OK.. I think the a320 program with rating BUT NO time on type is on hold.. to many applicants already..



Citilink the low cost carrier and daughter of Garuda Indonesia would like to invite A320 rated pilots. Pilots who have a rating but no hours are also considered.



The minimum requirements are:

Captain: minimum 500 hours on type (A320)

FO: requesting 500 hours on type, but zero hours are considered in the near future(A320)

A320 type rating

ICAO English minimum level 4

Current/valid License (all licenses accepted)

Current/valid Medical class 1

All nationality are welcome



Benefits:

Captain:

·Senior : Basic salary IDR 44 million

·Medium : Basic salary IDR 40 million

·Junior : Basic salary IDR 36 million



First Officer:

·Senior : Basic salary IDR 22 million

·Medium : Basic salary IDR 18 million

·Junior : Basic salary IDR 14 million



Besides basic salary, pilot will get the following fringe benefits: Flight hours, Night Stop, Insurance,



2 year contract is offered with a chance to extend the contract period after 2 years.

You can always try Hong Kong Jetstar.. Maybe a safer bet than indonesia garuda/citilink... because of the pilot union in garuda..they can change the management way of thinking.. Strikes etc... like before...
