Hey, Just wondering if these guys hire low hour pilots? (250 hours) as first officers? anyone got any info on this? what are the requirements? I heard they hire locals only as FO's is this true? thanks.

You need a seaplane rating before you go there. Their primary candidates are DHC6 seaplane captains, or high time seaplane pilots that will eventually upgrade to captain.

Blackstone (NYSE: BX) today announced that a private equity fund managed by Blackstone on behalf of its private equity investors has acquired a controlling interest in two Maldives-based seaplane operators – Maldivian Air Taxi “MAT” and Trans Maldivian Airways “TMA”.
FO's need to be a local - the exception being experienced float guys that after a bit of twoter time in country are a easy upgrade. Need at least 1700hrs of floats for this and turbine tie like on a C208 anphib helps.
