Which Aircraft to select for Skill test?

Guys,i am going to US for my recency and i have a question

1. All my PIC hours was on a Cessna 152 when i was in the US back in the year 2010,now for my skill test(Recency) i want to do my hours on Cessna 172 so that i have Cessna 172 endorsed on my Indian Licence. Can i fly Cessna 172 then?

The reason why im asking is because when i went and checked the DGCA CA40 form,at the end under COMMENTS it says " Certificate that I have more than 10 (Ten) hours of P.I.C
experience
on type during preceding 30Days and I have exercised the
privileges
of Instructor/Examiner in the last 6 months."

This is the link to CA40 form
http://dgca.nic.in/forms/crew-d/CA40.pdf

Guys your immediate thought on this is much appreciated

You are going to need atleast 10 hours on type

4 hrs of DUAL by day
3 hrs of DUAl by night
Include atleast 1:30 of instrument time

Then

1hr GFT by day
1hr GFT by night

250nm XC check by day
120nm XC check by night

1 hour IR check

***CAUTION***
According to the DGCA you have to do the GFT by DAy and Night before doing the cross country tests .
Dont do the cross country or IR tests first .
Lots of people are facing this issue after applying for the license .
You will also notice thats the order in which the tests appear on the DGCA flow chart

Thank you Cyril for your prompt reply and i will just as you mentioned about the cross countries. However,i was a little worried becoase the CA40 form at the end says that " Certificate that I have more than 10 (Ten) hours of P.I.C
experience
on type during preceding 30Days and I have exercised the
privileges
of Instructor/Examiner in the last 6 months"

Also i have all my SOLO and PIC hours on the 152........

I have 7.1 hours of day dual on 172 and 3.8 hours of night dual on 172 and they are all instrument flights. When i say instrument flight i mean

Eg: if the flight was 3 hour duration i have logged 3 hour under dual but 2.6 hour under instrument...so i have counted the entire 3 hours as dual

Is that the way to do Cyril..........if yes then i guess unfortunately i have only 3.8 as dual in the night(you said you need 4 hours dual) on cessna 172 but i have another 2 hours as night PIC on 172.....can i add this with 3.8 to take it over 4 hours?

Can we get a C-152 rating on the Indian CPL or does the endorsement HAVE to be on a complex aircraft like C-172RG

Wink

I believe the statement under comments section, that you are referring to (the one that states 10 hours of PIC and exercising privileges of instructor )
is for your Instructor or CFI (one who will be taking your skill test. He needs to be current to take your skill check). Thus, the statement of exercising privileges of instructor.

I hope this helps.

EDIT:
After going through the pdf that you attached CA40,
Its clearly mentioned

DGCA APPROVED EXAMINER
(Signature)

That means the 10 hrs - privileges of instructor is for him.

guys i had posted on this topic in the other forum on skill tests.

My question is...

i am doing single + multi + IR ratings abroad and doing the multi and IR checks abroad.
If i want to do only the single engine checks in india, can i do them on any aircraft or do i have to have some hrs in the last 6 months on the aricraft i will do the skill test on in india?
for example, I have flown cessnas (152, 172) till ppl stage then switched to diamonds after that. I will come back with 40 odd hrs each on 152, 172, da-20, da40.
Now when i come home, am i allowed to just walk into a school and complete the checks on 152 and get that endorsed on indian cpl or do i need to do something else besides the skill checks

Thats the real worry.....i mean some guys have flown c 152 as PIC during their entire training, including me and had c 172 as dual only(instruments flights )............but now they wish to fly c 172 during the skill tests abroad.
Some people say you can do your skill tests on a 172 some say you cannot as DGCA wants 10 hours of PIC on that type?

Anybody here who has an idea

Cyril did mention something.........but i spoke to a Bombay flying club official and he said that you need some hours as PIC if you wish to select that particular aircraft for your recency and eventually have it endorsed.on the Indian CPL.

Guys this is urgent please help ....I am going to US to do my recency and i want your help to decide which one best suits my need .....Thank You

@ramkiarchu

If you have only a ME CPL and not a SE CPL, then all checks must be carried out on the ME in India. The Seneca PA34 is valid as of now. I dont have a link, but thats what everyone is doing their recency on, so I am guessing its valid.
