Hainan Airlines (China) New Terms

So after three years or survival here the new terms are slowly emerging.

10% more salary (note paid in USD so maybe 5%).
No increase in housing allowance.
5 more blocks hours/month unpaid (absorbed in the 10% increase).
You must sign a life long non-disclosure agreement (since I have not signed it I can write this).
Heavy penalties if you refuse to fly or cannot be scheduled.
So in the end it will be 10% loss from the previous three years with penalties & deductions.
Questionable full income taxes being paid to the CHN government as per the contract.

If you refuse to extend and after you have completed your contract - they will NOT release your License and allow you to go to Air China for example.
They have released on 2 License over the past 2 years for pilots whom they wanted to get rid of. They ended up at Schenzen.
They have had 2 License black listed.
This year at least 16 pilots contracts are up for another 3rd year term if extended.

If this happens to you, you have no other choice but to sue them. As a foreigner, you have this option and you will win. It is illegal not to allow you to move on once your contract is completed and there are Chinese laws (believe it or not) that protect you; they are just pushing your buttons because they can. I know of a few that have sued and have won their release.... just depends on weather or not you really need to stay in China.

Remember that China is 30 years behind developed countries and their business practices are derived from communism; trying to control you is what they are use to. So, just take them to court and slowly they will realize that foreigners will not put up with their crap.

Hi, there should be a term in the contract with the airlines about to release the license for the contractor after the contract finished, also this is the term in China Labor Law, which must be write in the contract.
