Did he call for it?
In the past when this has happened, it was the fault of a cocky expat pilot shooting off at the mouth while drunk!
I've had to step in a couple of times to break up visiting pilots and locals. Some guys seem to think that they own the countries they visit.
Last case was an Etihad Captain going up to a Singaporian guy and aggressively telling him to "f*** off" as he was talking to one of the Cabin Crew in the bar. Speaking to the girl later, she said she never had a problem talking with the guy and I didn't notice him act in a uncouth manner.
Of course the New Asia bar manager took the side of the Eithad Captain, whom was staying at the hotel, till I called the hotel manager who is a friend. Good news, a letter has been sent to Eithad about the behaviour of the Captain. Hopefully, he is now looking for employment elsewhere.

Anything practical or just some puerile tit-for-tat satisfaction?
Was the Etihad guy in uniform? If not then was there any overt
indication he worked for Etihad at the time?
Were YOU directly involved?
Did you have the guts and integrity to front the guy yourself
afterwards?
Overheard at the pub two female expat first officer's had been "rolled" in Saigon as well.Same modus operandi!!One has resigned because of it.Also one expats pilots girlfriend had her bag "removed" as well walking down the street. The local bar maids had the same thing happen to friends as well. Not Good.
I phone 4 the choice "picking" with these "gangs" on motor bikes!

I can confirm that a Vietnam pilot was attacked by 3 Vietnamese
He was going back home after a late dinner
They came from behind
They touch his bike and he fell badly and injured his face
The guy, from (Polynesian Island) was so angry wile bleeding, fought the 3 guys,
brake the arm of one of them and knock out the 2 others
Then the police arrived and arrested the 3 Vietnameses guys and hopefully they may be in Jail for a long time
The case should proceed in court very soon

Slasher,
You think it is acceptable for a captain, while on company business, to act in such a manner?
I stepped in when the guy started shouting "**** off!", at the time I had been speaking one of the other Cabin crew.
Would you really want such a loose cannon of a prick on the flight deck?

Touch I think your actions are merely reflective of a mean spirited saddo who ACTUALLY thinks he's done the righteous thing?
From a common sense standpoint, let me ask you a question? Were you there for the entirety of what went on? Did you have any idea of what kind of a day/situation et al, that this Captain had been through prior to your "helpful" intervention?
Bear in mind, this guy who you have effectively screwed over, might have a family to support, kids at school, mortgage to pay. Sure he might have been out of line, but is that reason enough to go squealing like a 9 year old telling tales to anyone who would listen.
You sir are the reason lots of us don't associate with others down route..idiot.

It would be interesting to see a copy of the letter, written by a third party (the hotel manager) responding to hearsay. I would hope that any airline management receiving such a letter would treat it with the contempt it deserves.
It reminds me of an incident when hotel staff reported a Captain for spending the night in his hotel room with a lady member of another crew also on layover in the same hotel. Red faces all round - the lady was his wife!

I think Monarch answered your last post quite succinctly Mr
Oops. I would've thrown in many more swear words and far
more descriptive opinions.
You and your ilk disgust me in the extreme pal and deserve
the utmost bloody contempt. I really hope that Etihad bloke
eventually catches up with you. Snot nosed brat.
If you are referring to yourself the answer is a definite NO.

Monarch man:
I actually had the Singaporian guy standing right behind me and I was there the entire time. He was doing no wrong and as I understand he had no contact with the captain before hand. I actually asked a couple of the girls, because I couldn't understand what this guy had done, I assumed the two had it out earlier.
Slasher:
So you support such an uncalled for outburst? Just because he is a Captain? How would you then deal with such a person who believes he has the right to stomp on another man, who was in no means acting in antangistic manner? Do you think it is fair that this Singaporian fella was going to have to deal with the police for fight he did not start? Which is dealt with harshly here!
I aperciate that a lot things that happen down route and should stay down route! I've seen a lot of sh*t down route, which has also included other members of crew fighting, on those occasions appologies were made and the night went on. Unlike this captain who firmly believed he had right of way! He certainly didn't care about the guy he just attacked, so I gave him the same due care!
When a Captain believes it is acceptable to beat his chest and attack an innocent member of public, I draw a line. When dealing with confrontation he should be able to excise restraint and sound judgement no matter when or where!
P.s. I hope he does catch up with me, because I would love to have it out!
At the end of the day, sod the Singaporian, he's only a local!

what the hell you start arguing about some etihad captain on a vietnam thread
when etihad is not even flying to vietnam, if you are keen on discussing those matters simply start a new thread.
