Isaw for Thought: My Captain, Your Honor...Only in the Philippines
Do you know that pilots can solemnize marriage under exceptional circumstances?
Yes Pilots can solemnize marriage in case either or both of the contracting parties are at the point of death and the marriage may be solemnized without necessity of a marriage license and shall remain valid even if the ailing party subsequently survives (Article 27 - Family Code of the Philippines). Pilots can do so not only when the plane is in flight but also during stopovers (Article 31 - Family Code of the Philippines)
Just a food for thought; This should be generally correct -- to the best of my knowledge and semi-diligent research
