As a fellow Indian myself, one would think the Pilot group would more than welcome a full government audit to root out and prosecute all fake pilot's by checking each and every file instead of crying about it.
I am appalled that the Indian Pilot's Association would actually call the government administration "striking a new low" in investigating all pilot files for potential fake pilot's. Perhaps this head of the Indian Pilot's Association that would make such an assertion really has some thing to hide...
I flew in the U.S. for many years before relocating back to Singapore and I remember some 3,000 A & P Mechanics (Engineers in Asia) having to retake their Oral & Practical certification exam after an undercover audit by the Government Accounting Office (GPO) found a examiner in Florida were there was no real exam, just basically a fake pass, for a real FAA certification.
Then there was the Designated Pilot Examiner at a flight school called Action Air in Groton, CT that use to give passes to unqualified people, gave somebody a Commercial Single & Multi rating with only a Multi-engine flight test all because it was getting late in the day, and the FAA took serious action on that too.
I am proud to be an Indian and even prouder that I do NOT belong to a group of sorry as* pilot's they are appalled that the government is going to audit all pilot files to root out fake pilot's, this coming from the head of the pilot group it self is the most SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!
