Does anyone have an idea of the latest rule for IR renewal on the multi engine on the Indian CPL?

It depends on how long it has been since your last flight.
IR renewal if done before it expires, is a straight forward process , which requires just an IR renewal checkride.
According to Operations circular 2 of 2004 (available on DGCA's website, under Rules -> Circulars -> Operations) if it has been more than 12 months since your last flight you will need to do a fam flight (by day or by night) lasting not less than 45 minutes, a day check and a night check and ofcourse the IR check plus a ground refresher on the type of a/c with a qualified AME/examiner (endorsement of the same has to be made in the log book.)
Hope this helps.
