REGENT AIR-Bangldesh?
I see this company has just advertised for B757 crews based in Dhaka to fly regional routes (climbto350.com).Does anyone have any data/info on this company?.Are they for real?.Do they have any financial backing, is it a start-up etc.I note that the salary is "negotiable".Not a good sign.Their website is "under construction"........cheers Pete.

I corresponded with the DO back in February. Unfortunately I dumped the emails with details. They wanted me to sign on as a TRI/TRE. The pay as advertised would not commence until flying commenced. A reduced amount would be provided. Office work was a must with no additional pay. If they've been certified then probably no office work is required. Accommodations would be at a three star hotel too. Up in the air about return transportation to home airport during block off.
I can't say yea or nay as to whether they would renege on the salary or they are a shyster operation. That part of the world anything is possible. If one is to sign on with this operation, sure one has a round trip ticket in their hand before leaving home so one is not stuck in Dhaka.

Have a look at these guys for an idea of what a job in Bangladesh could be like.

I knew a chap, a former colleague, who was with United Airlines of Bangladesh. Conditions worse than portrayed on the site.
I'm not defending nor agree with the terms and conditions of Regent, as presented me 4 months ago. The ad in climbto350 was more of, perhaps a red herring" in order to solicit qualified applicants. Being an educated contractor, corresponded with Regent by email then Skype. I got the full scoop on the T&Cs and pay. I thanked the gent for his time, and wished him well in his future endeavors.
I remember Fly Dubai in it's infancy in 2008 while they were working on their manuals before their proving runs. Offer with terms and conditions appeared to be equal to that of EK. Printed matter from their email were very different from that of what was in their formal contract. That was pure deception. Actual pay would have resulted 50% less than their red herring, non-mentioned training bond to name a couple of major issues.
That said, if invited to apply with Regent or any other carrier, take the time to ask questions before filling out paper work.
Anyway, IMO it's a bit premature to compare this new operation with the likes of UAB as they are just getting, pardon the pun, off the ground.
Perhaps some one can comment as to whether or not they've changed their T & Cs since February.

The terms and conditions were vague at best. All I remember was that the pay was very limited until training was completed. Accommodations were set to be in a three star hotel. A three star hotel in Bangladesh is not the same as a three start hotel, say in the US or Euroland.
Perhaps they've changed their way of thinking as they've not been able to attract or acquire the talent they are looking for.
You can contact them directly and they will answer your questions as best as they can.

Hi babisiliop
Im unsure of your hours on type but just so you know you must have 500 on the NG. I have a mix of Classic and NG and unfortunately because my NG time was 400 I was turned down. This is not the Airlines rule its their Aviation Authorities. I was randomly called the other day from an email I sent earlier in the year....Gutted...
