Good! Glad to hear that!

1. Never ever goes to anywhere without confirmation of job.
2. Never ever pay a visit to any air-operators (e.g. airline) as you like.

hi Varig

Hello,

I don't understand the Home country Validation.

Do you mean that the CAA from my country has to send a letter to the Indonesian Aviation Authority? and after the verification of my licences, then Indonesia will issue a temporary licence.

That's not entirely true. Two airlines in Indonesia have just taken on foreign pilots with around 250 hours TT. I'm talking about real major airlines in Indonesia (not Susi Air).

Lion Air will of course take 250TT pilots so long as they have gone through the Eagle Jet programme...pricey to say little. Indonesian Air Transport have hired foreign pilots also I hear. Airfast Indonesia have also few foreign pilots but with long contract

did you know that the immigration ask copies of all pages of your passport.
this is to see if you break laws.!!!!???

if they find you work illegally as a pilot in a country, they will contact the DCA, and you can say bye bye to your prospective job.

even your own authority may not recognized the hours you did...(certainly not the hours on the caravan as first officer as it' s a one pilot aircraft.)

better they apply for a work permit before you come to Indonesia(or Asia).

Angry Wonder Woman

I know a Captain of SA who just left. SA refuse to return his Pilot License after he asked for a month. They also hold two months of his salary.
That is to say, Some pilots of SA (if not all) are flying without their original license with them. That is violating the law.
Also, as SA pay their pilots always 15 days late, so if someone send their resignation before the pay day, they can easily hold two months salary. Indonesia Labor Law requests that salary must be paid within 7 days after the due day. That is end of month plus 7 days.
Further, ALL SA Caravan do not have HF Radio and they fly in Papua. In East Indonesia, regulation is that you need to have HF Radio due to inability of VHF. But they fly anyway.
Caravan being a single engine, is not allowed to fly IFR and only allow to fly in daylight. But in SA..........
I am not anti SA but rather admire the way they climb so high in such a short time (tricky way????). However, with the way they work, accidents are waiting to happen. This is bring Indonesia aviation record going South again. This will affect those innocent 121 & 135 having to suffer due to SA mistakes.

Crash and Cringe

Thanks for clarification re Susi Air Crash. Work permit matter still not resolved after, what, years now. Susi Air reputation for arrogance growing. Not so much darling of the press anymore but Susi milking the "woman owned business" aspect as far as it can go: read Femina mag, a 7-page story online. Filled with the usual Susi family nonsense like flying her "grandkids" by helicopter from Pondok Cabe to downtown Jakarta when the traffics really bad. Is this a well-run airline? Lots of input from the other pilots. It would be hard to answer 'yes' even with the listed accidents still rather low. The reason is sharp pilots (when they're not boozed up from the Eka Bamboo and other airstrip bars (Pangandaran has a red light district next to the illegal strip where Susi was flying sightseers around for Rp 100K a pop last week during the "Lebaran" holiday) and $80 mill to buy new planes. The maintenance record will catch up with at least one or two of these craft sooner or later what with carrying dangerous cargo and freebie joy flights for Susi friends and family.

Now the whole communities of Cijulang, Cimerak, Parigi and Batu Karas are infuriated with the arrogance of Susi's "training flights", integrating each new aircraft, shuffling them into Nusawiru (BVI, BVK seen recently) and circling like mad hatters around the airfield to perform approaches. The idiot DepHub guys at the airport blast their sirens constantly to add to the din. Why doesn't the trainer get a clue and pick a couple of reference points in an unpopulated area instead of giving everyone there a headache? Or is it because the DepHub guys are too lazy to cooperate despite the envelopes Susi has handed them personally on occasion?
