Crash and Cringe

Thanks for clarification re Susi Air Crash. Work permit matter still not resolved after, what, years now. Susi Air reputation for arrogance growing. Not so much darling of the press anymore but Susi milking the "woman owned business" aspect as far as it can go: read Femina mag, a 7-page story online. Filled with the usual Susi family nonsense like flying her "grandkids" by helicopter from Pondok Cabe to downtown Jakarta when the traffics really bad. Is this a well-run airline? Lots of input from the other pilots. It would be hard to answer 'yes' even with the listed accidents still rather low. The reason is sharp pilots (when they're not boozed up from the Eka Bamboo and other airstrip bars (Pangandaran has a red light district next to the illegal strip where Susi was flying sightseers around for Rp 100K a pop last week during the "Lebaran" holiday) and $80 mill to buy new planes. The maintenance record will catch up with at least one or two of these craft sooner or later what with carrying dangerous cargo and freebie joy flights for Susi friends and family.

Now the whole communities of Cijulang, Cimerak, Parigi and Batu Karas are infuriated with the arrogance of Susi's "training flights", integrating each new aircraft, shuffling them into Nusawiru (BVI, BVK seen recently) and circling like mad hatters around the airfield to perform approaches. The idiot DepHub guys at the airport blast their sirens constantly to add to the din. Why doesn't the trainer get a clue and pick a couple of reference points in an unpopulated area instead of giving everyone there a headache? Or is it because the DepHub guys are too lazy to cooperate despite the envelopes Susi has handed them personally on occasion?
