Question Lights over Shenzhen/Hongkong

Looking from shenzhen towards Hong Kong Island this evening I saw some strange lights in the sky. A bright oscilliating red/blue light (similar to police strobe) caught my attention. However as my eyes adjusted I saw a line of 7( but much fainter flashing lights in a very long line). As i could not estimate the height of the lights it is hard to say how long this line was but many km I would think. This line of lights was moving back and forwards in perfect formation.
Any one flying in/out HK or SZX notice anything.
No I hadnt been drinking; on the way to the bar!!
