Beware - Cheated by Osprey Aviation, Delhi, India

Hi Guys,
About five months back Osprey Aviation started the selection process for hiring Pilots.
Address: Osprey Aviation209 ,2nd floor' H-6 netaji subhash palace, Aggarwal tower near PP jweller, Delhi, India.

During the process the selected candidates were asked to deposit money for Type rating to be done in Florida USA. They were told it is required before you are hired. The money asked for was close to US$ 30000. They told the type rating will done with their associate company in USA---Named----JETEX INC.

I went thru the selection process and paid an amount in several lakhs Indian Rupees ( equal to US$ 30000) to Osprey, which they asked for Type rating. They promised me a stipend during the period before the Type rating is done (supposed to be done in USA) and also promised a salary of more then a Lakh after the Type rating is completed. Now it is more then three and a half months since I deposited the money and still I am waiting for. They keep on postponing the date on one or the other pretext. If I ask them the details of other persons they have selected during this process and about their fate, they simply ask me to mind my own business and forget about others. They even threat of dire consequences if I try to find out more or bother them with too many questions. They told the money will be forfeited and their offer will also be withdrawn with no refund.

I suspect that Ms Kamini Singh and Mr Jatin are now planning to disappear any day now. The office equipment/computers and manpower (initially there were 5-6 computers and five person) in their office is now reduced to only two persons (Ms Kamini and one more girl) and only two old computers.

I request other persons, who have made payments to this company and are waiting like me, to come forward and write their story here. We can then work out together a strategy to fight with them. I hope something can be done before it is too late.

I seek suggestions and help form all you guys to get out of this mess and get my money back.

you paid 30,000 for a type rating?what were u thinking and on what aircraft?sounds like a rip off from the start.
Did you check if they atcually had a/c or a contract before u paid the money?
If i was you get together with the other pilots and take some court action against the individuals, so they dont rip more pilots off.

In Florida there is no Jetex Inc , the last one was dissolved in 1991 !

www.sunbiz.org - Department of State

Although it could be registered in another state.....

But before forking over that much money there is a thing called doing your due diligence you know ...ie research!

Go to the cops NOW. Don't delay it. Kamini and Jatin will cut and run soon if this is indeed a scam.

I agree with Arcane.

I am sorry this happened to you.

I too received their BS email. I played the game to see how far they took it and as soon as the wanted $$, I responded that I do not pay $$ to a head hunter to fly airplanes. I never heard from them again.
I truly hope they get what they deserve!

Good luck.

mate I feel the pain you are going through. Now whats done is done.your money is in their pocket.I was in a similar situation in 1990s.Our family went through hard times. That time I went and saw DGCA and another two named Capt Biyala,Capt Nair.they were helpful in hearing my problem.
But later in few months found ot that to get the money i had to fork out more in bribes to police,CBI,DGCA,etc etc.

there was only doordarshan so no luck in that way.

I can only suggest you to go and see someone reputable person from the news media and tell your situation and bring them to the attention of public and ask them to run this in news contact newspapers.

I am sure there will be someone out in India who is an honest person will help you you just got to find that person who has the authority and willingness to help you.

also try to put as much as info as possible in the pprune so people can read.
good luck

have u really paid $ 30000 upfront to this shady set-up or r u merely trying
to find out if anyone else has paid any money to the them. because no one else has responded so far saying they have paid anything to these people. also, the
sums people were talking about in Dec was around rs 2.5 lac - being
about 30% to be paid upfront for the cost of training which was said to be rs 7-8 lacs. the balance was to be funded by the co. itself. there was much discussion on the genuineness of this co. on pprune itself. so how come u paid rs 15/- lacs to them ? if u really
have parted with this money - then God help u ! as the earlier posts said,
u need to expose them by going to tv channels and newspapers.

Go to the cops... The media will follow.

Make sure you've reviewed the agreement you signed with them and take a lawyer's opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if they made the agreement pretty one sided to ensure that they could actually get away with a scam like this, considering they've been around for a year or so, they've planned this quite well.

Yes, don't wait a moment.File a complaint with the police. The fact that they threatened you is enough legal ammo.In addition write an official letter to the DG of the DGCA and send a copy of that to all the news channels....just out of interest what aircraft were they planning to type you on and with which airline were they associated ?In addition talk to a good lawyer and find out if you can get any form of compensation from these frauds in addition to the amount paid by you. That's the only way you can put such people out for good..best of luck buddy

This is Delhi where it took millions of e-mail petitions to the President and PM, and 7 years before they put away a politicians son who walked up to a lady bartender and shot her in the face. There is no justice for the man in the street, unless he knows someone, PERIOD.
This is why the DGCA is what it is and they do anything they like.
There are other ways to get your parents money back, in addition to those mentioned.

i request you to give details of your ordial with the company to whom you paid 30,000$ upfront.

write all the story about this company from first commununication not just the story after you paid them.

we all are standing by your complete story.
and we will ensure nobody does that again

can you help so many others by giving your own true story and sequence of events ?

its very urgent and so many are waiting for your feed back.
many recognised companies are using the same tool.
encash now n see later.

Osprey Aviation is a sister concern of Jetex Inc., a reputed US based Aviation Company. Headquartered in New Delhi, we are under contemplation to open at different locations across India, over a period of time.

V 53
What was that story given to you by osprey that convinced you to pay full money?

Before you made payment you must have checked operator permit/plans/funds, which are must for starting Aviation Company in India, required by DGCA.

They told the type rating will done with their associate company in USA---Named----JETEX INC.

V53
From osprey website it looks JETEX INC has started one branch in India.
Please find out if they got Operators permit from DGCA and plans submitted along with the application for approval from DGCA.

I seek suggestions and help form all you guys to get out of this mess and get my money back.

Well I think you will get your money back with Interest.

Too early to give you suggestions, more inputs are needed from you and others who are in same situation.
