Required Paperwork to work In China..!!

I wanted to make a post to tell pilots who are launching off to China for work which paperwork to make sure they bring along. I mean you must bring Original copies some notarized.

I made a previous post "If you want to work in China" you may want to check out.

Here is the link.. http://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far...ml#post4517938

The China application process is normally 2 steps.

Step 1. Initial trip to China for interview which takes 7 to 10 days. You will normally Interview, take the CAAC written exam, CAAC medical in Beijing and maybe a local medical for your work permit. Then you will go back home and wait for some verification process and then head back for work. (see PPRUNE link to Chinese Written Exam here http://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far...en-test-2.html )

Step 2. Head to China for work and make sure you bring all these documents and anything else your agency asks for. (hopefully you have removed any circle to land restriction prior to this point or plan on waiting another 3 months). Remember China will not verify a USA FAA Pilot certificate temporary. This means you will have to wait for the final cert. to verify which take 60 to 120 dys.

1) Valid original passport and copy
2) Valid original pilot license and copy
3) Valid original FAA Medical (Type I) and copy
4) Original Safety Security Letter (issued by former employer)
5) FAA No Accident Record (issued by local aviation management authority, which should be notarized)
6) “No Criminal Record” letter (issued by local police station)
a. The related authority in pilot’s home country or in his resident country can issue the “No Criminal Record” letter. (The record must be issued within 6 months of arrival date in China.) The record should be continuous.
b. The “No Criminal Record” letter should be notarized by Chinese embassy or consulate in USA or legal notary organ in USA
7) Original Logbooks.
8) Record of the latest proficiency check.
9) Certification of ICAO Test (or endorsement of language proficiency on pilot license)
10) Photos: 8 color photos (33mm X 48mm with a blue background)
11) Resume with continuous working experience. (Required for work permit)
12) Copy of diploma (highest attained)
13) If a family member will accompany you, supply copy of family member’s passport, marriage certificate and birth certificate of children younger than 18.

It is easier to bring the documents with you than trying to work from China getting them shipped via Fed-ex...!!!!

Good Luck...!!

Required Paperwork to work In China..!!

I answered a few pm's on the paperwork you need to bring to China. Remember, your agency should give you these details ahead of time so you can bring your original documents before you end up in China. it is a pain to retrieve original documents from inside China.

Talking Required Paperwork to work In China..!!

Hello,

A Safety Security Letter is a (Flight time verification letter) from your current employer verifying your flight times and that you have never been involved in any accidents or inccidents.

The Chinese are crazy about paperwork and stamps..hehe. You will also need the official letter from the FAA, JAA or whichever governing body over sees your pilot certificate. Most important lesson is don't show up to China and start trying to get the required documents. It is a long way and will cause you many problems and take your time.

I hope I answered your quesion.

Take care,

On Final

Good Luck..!!

I don't think so.

CAAC will verify the record directly with FAA, don't even have to wait for the plastic green-card. Moreover, FAA Airmen record can be verified instantly online if employer wants to!

I tried to look online for this requirement and I can't find any. Who set this rule?

Can somebody point me to the government or official airline website that specify this?

Point 1. CAAC to FAA Certificate verification.

The CAAC verification process is done directly between the FAA and CAAC. There is "NO" instant verification process that I am aware of. And yes you, 'DO: have to wait iuntil you are issues your permanent FAA Cert before your CAAC verification is Vald. They DO NOT accept the verification until the FAA has issued your permenat certificate. The actual process is done by the FAA sending and email with PDF, or Fax to the CAAC in Beijing. But wait a minute, you would think this is a quick and simple process, WRONG...!! It tyakes some time fore the FAA to get through their own system and then to send it to the CAAC. Then it goes into Never, never land and there is no way to check on itto speed it up. Your Chinese airline will have a number to call but it does take a little time after the FAA qlicks the send button. So, after saying all of that, if you plan to go to work in China, remove any "VFR Circle to land Restriction" soon, and get your Permanent certificate as soon as you can so you can have the CAAC verify your certificate.

Point 2. Criminal History

Who knows where the actual law is or who really cares. What matters is that every Chinese employer that I have seen has this requirement. I guess one should try to comply if they want to work for the carrier. It is really quite simple, just go to your local police department, pay the nominal 2 to 5 USD and they will give you a nice copy, with a pretty stamp you can provide the Chinese.

If you are living and working abroad, just go to your local police of that country and get a letter, it should work.

Good Luck,

On Final

If you have A320 circle to land and B737 circle to land do you have to have both restrictions removed before you go? I will have 5 type ratings, and only one will have the circle to land VMC only - but not the aircraft I fly over there?

Required Paperwork to work In China..!!

Hello,

You only are required to have the VFR Circle to Land restriction removed on the aircraft you will be flying.

Example:

You have an A-320, B-737 with the VFR CTL restrictions but you are going to fly the B-747 which does not have any restriction, it is OK.

I hope this helps,

Good luck,

FAA no accident letter notarized?

How do you get your FAA no accident/incident/enforment letter notarized? My came signed from the FAA but I have no idea how to get it notarized? Local FAA office?

Is it necessary to have it notarized?

Hello,

The official FAA letter should be enough because the company through the CAAC will request your license verification directly from the FAA. They may also request your accident history. But, China loves stamps so I will go down to the local FSDO and see if they will put a stamp in it for you just for back up. I am not sure if they can stamp it either because of FAA rules.

You should be good with the letter and envelope your FAA letter came in though.

Maybe others can comment on this to help out.

Good Luck,

BEWARE!

Before ever think to work in China do your search: for instance see http://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far...ina-cargo.html.
Lots of lies and dishonesty.
