Don't see many posting on Chinese airlines and the contract offers from them. Anyone have good info on what airlines to avoid? I saw Air China just made of big order today of 777s and 737s. Anybody have good info on Shanghai Airlines. I see them alot on Parc.

I'm sure there is more info to come, I know air china was recruiting DEC's on the 330 with a great range of basings worldwide. My hope is with the 777 order there will be basing for FO's and DEC's offered on the west coast of North America. Watch this space!

I wouldn't mind living in some of the bases they listed. I posted another thread and ask if they will sponser yanks in those countries. If "yes "it sure sounds better than the sand pit. Does anyone know if Air China is ok to work for?

Mr Frank, no company is gonna sponsor you for living in other country than their based country, in this case China.

European Bases are open for you if you have rights to live in those countries or you will be living like a turist in EU.

I know, you are American but don't be so naif.

Cosmiccomet, So Sorry to be naive in my question, but like it or not the Americans are going to be joining the Expat game. The USA seems to let everyone into our country (legal or not) then we do all we can to see they are taken care of. Unlike the EU we don't have passports that let us live and work in other countries. But we do have alot of EU people flying in our jets.

Turist means that you have to go out EU before the time stamped in your passport expires.
I don't know in EU but in US the maximum time a foreigner crew member can stay legally is 30 days.
It is not a problem for us, because we are not more than 3 or 4 days in a row each time, but it is a problem if we want to move our families to US because with the Turist Visa no more than 90 days are allowed and depends in the mood of the inmigration officer who stamps the time in the passport sometimes only one month.

I don't know who it works for EU but I guess that it is the same.

OK Cosmiccomet;
I'm "Naif" and you can't write or spell. I'll leave it at that. I'd still like to know if Air China is one of the good Chinese airlines to work for?
