Wow! 2 Apache aircrafts against a Piper Warrior. Must be the name "Warrior" that scrambled the 2 Apaches up. They must have been in full combat alert in case the Piper Warrior is armed with nuclear warheads. The blip on their defence radar must have showed up a tiny aircraft flying at such a speed that was rather threatening (100 kts perhaps?).

100kts....!!!! wow that is very threatening...but i do believe the piper warrior was more likely doing 75kts but was doing some dangerous flying like trying to fly straight and level!!!!!

Good thing they sent up the Apaches. If it was the F16s, the F16's would have stalled trying to escort the Piper down!! Haha.

[quote=minibus330] Nehz not so easy to stall... Been to the airshow where the black knights did the "low and slow"? The other fighters on display also did that.

And AFAIK if the plane intercepted cannot keep up, the intercepting jets will circle around the plane. Source: CAA Aviation Safety leaflet
