Korean Air, Commuting contract 737NG
Hi All.
Is there anyone in here who currently fly for, or have flown for Korean as an expat?
Cos I am really interested in some feedback as to how it is to work out there. - Have heard rumours about poor safety, and problems between locals and expats?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you.
/BAP

My friend.
You really dont want to come here!!.... Your worst day is nothing compared with the humiliation and utter disgust with which they will treat you.
And at the end of it all they will send you home and call you "a Bad pilot"
So just stay away from here, its the best thing you will have done to save your career..
Cheers

Hi H.C.
Thank you very much for you feedback.
I have only heard bad things so far, so I'll take your advice and stay far away from that place.
Kind regards

Stay away? I hope you can provide some more details. I am presently considering applying to Korean through one of the contracting agencies. This would be for a 777 Captain position. Human Cargo, have you had a contract with Korean? If so, how long were you there? What were the circumstances of the humiliation? If not Korean Airlines, which companies, and through which agencies would you recommend.
I have read more than a little negative stuff on pprune, but on a couple of other websites, there have been some slightly more positive perspectives on the Korean work and training environment. The contract terms and conditions look reasonable.

Hi Decolar and BAP,
there are much post about KAL and working conditions there....of course it's not the easiest environment to work in but for most of us money and off days at home matters.....that's why guys come here.
And better don't listen to people like H.C. who obviously got sacked and just want to release their grievances.
Bap, to get an objective opinion just pm me, I'll forward you the contact of someone from your country who is presently on a contract on B737NG.
Guess that will be the best source of information you need, and it's first handed.

Careful what you are doing: Giving up a secure job for joining KAL, training is difficult and a objective result still questionable. Yes there where Guy´s in KAL who sruvived the training by pure luck and not by performance. Look in previous posts from the last 3 month to the last 10 Years, what changed ????
Too many good Pilots got send back because they where not good anymore when they went thru the Korean training program, you wonder why! So take the risk if you want and then make up your own mind. There have been cassaulties in the past who made it like a walk in the park somewhere else. Now you tell me who wants to get that shaftet.
Fly safe and land happy

Hi everybody
I was thinking to apply for the posted position with KAL 737NG FO,but apart from the basic requirements which are listed on any single partner agiencies webiste, does korean consider any applicant or the most experience ones only?
in other words, how many hours do you need to have good possibilities for an assesments? thanks all!
