Citizenship
Well, from what I was told during my conversion process with ATO, the regulations do not stipulate the need to be a citizen or a visa holder to fly any Philippines registered aircraft, but to be employed was a different story.
With regards to employment, the DFA did state that any pilot wishing to fly in the Philippines with any flag carrier would need to have citizenship/passport holder or if the company was willing to sponsor the pilot for a working visa.
I was also told by Capt. Lim (SAVP FOD Philippine Airlines) that both would be required to be "Employed" at Philippine Airlines. I also made the same inquiry with Cebu Pacific HR and was first asked, because of my accent, if I was a Philippine Citizen and passport holder. Of course the answer was a yes!
Refer to Republic Act No. 9225, also known as the Citizenship Retention and Re-Acquisition Act of 2003. Under this act, I was able to attain dual citizenship under the "right of blood" philospohy. Since both my parenst were still Filipinos at the time of my birth in the sates, that automatically made me a Filipino citizen.
but currently, from my understanding to be employed you have to be a citizen but to fly you do not.

Direct Entry Capt?
Good day sirs,
does Cebu Pac hire Direct Entry Capts on Airbus? A friend told me that they might. I just want to hear first hand from Cebu Pac jocks.
My experience is 10,000hours TT, about 500 hours command only on light aircraft & cruise Capt (if it counts), currently Airbus 340 rated, had A330 time & A320 time(4000 hours, 6 years ago).
Im planning to repatriate soon.
Any advice gentlemen?
I'd be glad to help Cebu Pac.
Many thanks.
