Post Jobs in Japan

What are the options for a non-Japanese with CPL-ME getting jobs at one of the small regional airlines in Japan? I have a working knowledge of the language and lived there for six years.

Better still, what chances does a non-national have to be recruited onto one of the big boys? In my time in Japan, I met one student pilot...and he was thinking of giving it up as it was just too damned expensive there.

If an airline (Japanese or any other airline) hires you as F/O, it expects you to become one of their captains within a certain amount of time, no matter what type of aircraft the airline operates.

IMHO, chances are pretty close to zero for pilots without an ATPL. Especially for expats in Japan.

Stratocaster is right, make sure you have at least an Frozen ATPL before you even trying knocking on their doors.
