I trust you have found time to make all your Hari Raya calls. BI still seems pretty upbeat, with a renegotiated ASA and the possibility of new routes or increased frequencies. And recruitment seems to be going well as evidenced by all the touch and goes yesterday.

So whats new in the ASA.

New routes, not without more aircraft. 777 won't happen, so it will have to wait till a whole fleet change takes place.

Chuckles,

Excellent post.I also rarely post but to hear the rantings of the same old losers on this thread is unrepresentative of how most guys feel about RBA.

Negative people, I find them creepy.

Dear Chucky,

Not sure when you became the moderator of this forum, but it still doesn’t give you the right to tell people what they can or cannot say. Of course I am just a ‘moron’ and a ‘neandearthal’, so what would I know.

Have you had your head up you’re a.. for the last 5yrs? Do you not know how badly people have been treated and bullied by our fleet manager??? I did have a lot of respect for you mate, but your shameless brown nosing just blew that.

This guy not only bullies junior FO’s, he also treats senior Captains appallingly, as just happened with the resignation of JI. To threaten people with legal action before even discussing the payment of a bond for a rating on some non existent aircraft is straight out bullying. Its such a shame it is allowed to happen by our DFO. I can give you so many cases of bullying and bad treatment by this so called ‘manager’, but somehow I think you know of them all. You do after all work here!

What would you expect any Fleet Manager to do, who had any compassion at all in the circumstances you describe. That is his job!

‘How can so many otherwise intelligent, allegedly educated adults have so little understanding of their circumstances?’

Is this really how you feel about your collegues? Do you think you are the only one who knows what is going on?? Come on now.

‘One of the drawbacks to the internet is it allows morons who never had a voice an instant audience and credibility beyond their worth. That applies to not just pilots but across the spectrum of society’.

Your words Chucky, not mine. Bit like your non believing of global warming. Complete Bull….!!

Resignations

With one capt retired, 4 fo’s resigned, 4 capts resigned and currently at least 4 more capts waiting for start dates, (total 13 pilots in recent months), I think a timely reminder is issued, reminding rbas ‘troops’ that due to soaring fuel prices and a global slowdown of the airline industry, there are NOT any jobs to go to. Therefore with immediate effect pilots are to cease applying to other airlines and resigning.

Consensus.

Here's what the late Michael Chricton said about consenus in relation to global warming (sic) which is now refered to as climate change (because the globe is not warming):

"I want to pause here and talk about this notion of consensus, and the rise of what has been called consensus science. I regard consensus science as an extremely pernicious development that ought to be stopped cold in its tracks. Historically, the claim of consensus has been the first refuge of scoundrels; it is a way to avoid debate by claiming that the matter is already settled. Whenever you hear the consensus of scientists agrees on something or other, reach for your wallet, because you're being had.

Let's be clear: The work of science has nothing whatever to do with consensus. Consensus is the business of politics. Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right, which means that he or she has results that are verifiable by reference to the real world. In science consensus is irrelevant. What is relevant is reproducible results. The greatest scientists in history are great precisely because they broke with the consensus."

Go ahead and stick with the consensus, crusin. Informed opinion seeks out facts. Chuck linked those facts for our reference.

145 Maintenance approval

Does anyone know whether RBA regained their full JAR/DCA 145 approval?

If not where are the maintenance inspections carried out?

If so are the maintenance inspections restricted to 'A' checks at Bandar?

Nothing changed as far as conditions, but the 767 have been painted so they look good.

Few retired, some left, 767 workload better but the direct AKL is a killer - and thats no joke.

Same bully in the fleet office, but a new Nav Officer who is now churning out heaps.

Sayer has resigned/ been sacked/not had his contract renewed and Pg Ashim is taking over on a temporary basis for not more than one year.

Haven't we been here before?

yoyo syndrome

Well said toothpick, seems the company can never have a direction or plan! Things could be moving in a positive direction and all staff I believe put in a great effort and dedication to RBA and never have feed back or leadership from the top...sad really as RBA has so much potential.
