Maintenance
PAL has a ten year Technical Services Agreement (TSA) with Lufthansa Technik Philipines (LTP)
which started in September 2000 for the maintenance and overhaul requirements of its fleet. PAL's
Aircraft Engineering Department provides planning, monitoring and control of all maintenance activities
and technical compliance of aircraft, engines and accessories with airworthiness standards and industry
accepted standards for safety, reliability, and customer acceptability.
Manhour rates for maintenance requirements are negotiated with LTP in accordance with the terms of the
PAL-LTP Technical Service Agreement (TSA). Maintenance materials and parts are sourced from the
original equipment manufacturers which include Airbus Industrie, Boeing, General Electric, CFM
International, Honeywell, Goodrich, Nordam Singapore, Panasonic Aviation, Recaro Aircraft Seating,
and Thales Avionics .
as per disclosure order given by Sir eatbulaga..and you can find the full details in page 56 of this topic..
yes! it's true..
LTP is no longer a Maintenance Provider of PAL
and subsonic69 statement is true...
i don't know yet who are the rated persons will be handling those A320..
what is really happening LTP right now?!
forced leaved or flexi time? that is the issue happening right now...
then, if PAL will leave LTP...
"Balagbag" Hangar is a goverment property!
if LTP cannot find a filipino dummy to retain their business here in philippines..
what will happed?!
CLOSED
foreigner are not allowed to established any business here in philippines
unless if a foreigner has a filipino business partner....(dummy in short)

If this is true that LTP will close down, then Im really sorry for our mechanics who chose to stay with LTP after the spin-off.
I guess this is true, because Mr. LT can start again from scratch & hire back the mechanics under his own terms - Contractual basis, no benefits, lower salary.
Its gonna be like Shoe Mart (SM) operations!
He already got the expertise of Lufthansa (and its customers?), now all he has to do is kick out the German partners come year end.
Brilliant, grandiose (but evil) scheme yet again that only a devil mind can concoct!

@ chairwrecker & capt papa bear:
Sirs, the only thing that i know right now, one of my senior already got his "Loyalty pay"
and right now, a rumor from a famous social networking that one of the low cost budget airline is now hiring mechanics for their A320 and giving a "good offer" (around 30-40K starting)
in short, there is a game plan right now...

Since last month, I think 5 more captains and 2 FOs resigned. They even filed a case against the pilots who already fulfilled their 5 year contract and gave a 1 month notice to the company before leaving.

hmm
my neighbour who knows the janitor who normally cleans up the conference rooms at PAL told me that, the other MRO LT is building up will be handling the A320 for domestic and regional flights. But the A330,340 B744 and 777 will still be handled by LTP.
Theyre trying to set it up like Singapore who has silkair (low-cost) and SIA for international flights..
Although the "Janitor" might be wrong.
Aside from that, another security guard friend of mine said that the new MRO LT is setting up is harboring or pirating Engineers and even Managers from Cebu Pacific's Maintenance Provider, as well as from SIAEP.
regarding the salary, its way higher compared to both Cebu Pacific, A+ (SIAEC) and SIAEP. So those Airbus engineers are grabbing the opportunity of getting a better rate for their expertise.
I even heard that one whole crew from Cebu Pacifics provider has already resigned.. tsk tsk tsk
hmmm.. now im guessing.. lets wait till December..

We had the right love
At the wrong time
Guess I always knew inside
I wouldn't have you for a long time
Those dreams of yours
Are shining on distant shores
And if they're calling you away
I have no right to make you stay
But somewhere down the road
Our roads are gonna cross again
It doesn't really matter when
But somewhere down the road
I know that heart of yours
Will come to see
That you belong with me
At the wrong time
Guess I always knew inside
I wouldn't have you for a long time
Those dreams of yours
Are shining on distant shores
And if they're calling you away

Latest PAL Av Grads
Hello!
Any updates on the latest PAL Av school grads (batch 2007)? Have they been absorbed by PAL given that PAL lost some pilots last month? What are they up to nowadays?
What is the pilot to aircraft ratio of airlines?

Airphil Expansion = more jobs?
Seems that Airphil is purchasing new A320s:

And adding new routes:
Airphil Express launches more domestic flights | ABS-CBN News | Latest Philippine Headlines, Breaking News, Video, Analysis, Features
Does this mean there will be more jobs for pilots?

Will the AWOL pilots follow the same fate?
PAL wins key lawsuit vs. pilot
By Paolo Montecillo
Philippine Daily Inquirer MANILA, Philippines—Flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has won a P3.3-million lawsuit against a pilot that went rogue in 2006, setting a potential precedent that can help the airline win its more recent case involving several airmen that resigned abruptly earlier this year.
“For violating his contractual obligations and training agreement with PAL, a former PAL pilot was ordered by the Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) to pay the flag-carrier millions of pesos in training fees and other penalties,” the company said Monday in a statement.
In a decision dated Sept. 15, Makati Judge Elpidio Calis ordered pilot Zenon Lukban to pay PAL P1.5 million plus interest for the cost of his training at the PAL Aviation School.
The pilot was also told to pay P1.87 million, plus interest, for the cost of training his replacement, as well as P50,000 in attorney’s fees.
Under their contracts with PAL, pilots are required to stay with the airline for at least five years after completing their training to make up for the money the company spent for the training.
However, PAL said Lukban left the airline in 2006, or just two years after completing his training.
Lukban also left the airline even after his resignation request was rejected by management.
Lukban then failed to show up for work right after tendering his resignation, forcing PAL to declare him absent without official leave.
PAL said the legal victory could help it win its lawsuits against several pilots who resigned abruptly last August, resulting in the cancellation of several domestic and international flights, affecting over 5,000 passengers.
At least 27 pilots are confirmed to have resigned from the airline since last August, with all of them said to have left PAL after finding better paying jobs abroad.
However, the Airline Pilots Association of the Philippines (Alpap), which claims to informally represent the resigned pilots, said the resignations were caused by PAL management’s move to transfer its employees to sister company Air Philippines, where salaries were lower.
PAL has since then said it would no longer transfer any of its pilots to Air Philippines, which is being groomed to compete head-on with Gokongwei-led Cebu Pacific—currently the country’s largest airline in terms of the number of passengers flown.
“The RTC’s order comes on the heels of PAL’s move to lodge multimillion-peso damage suits against 27 pilots and first officers who resigned in August to take higher-paying jobs,” the company said.
So far, complaints have already been filed against 16
