AirAsia

Anyone working for Air Asia or knowing of hiring procedures for First Officers?

Thanks and regards

One more thing ... I am hoping to join either AirAsia or Transmile, both located in Malaysia.

Which places would be better to work for? Pay, work schedule, upgrade time, time off, etc.?

How many hours do u have ? do u have a JAR cpl if you only have a FAA licence be prepared to do your licence again. Isnt there better job opportunities in the land of milk and honey??

There are, cool banana, but somehow, I find it difficult to get attention from the regionals here, since I am only a Green Card holder. Maybe it has to do with the extensive FBI background check that companies frown agains me.

I do hold a full ATP soon with 727 type rating.

AirAsia are recruiting a number of FOs via JAR licences. Pay for type rating. I don't know if they are running a similar drive in the US. Feel free to contact me for more info if you re interested.

What about Capt in Air Asia?

I have a ATPL/IR with 5000 jet hours(co-pilot), would Air Asia be interested to train me and put me in the LHS??

Anyone has any pay and remuneration package information for a Capt in Air Asia? Many thanks for the information...

Air Asia have just hired a number of foreign Captains, but on local terms. Approx. RM 12,000 per month plus annual bonus scheme.

I have been in the states for about 6 years, 4 as a pilot. The back ground checks you talk of are not expensive for an airline or anyone else for that matter. It takes an airline 24 hours to get DOJ checks done....most of which are done via email.

like everywhere, you need to know someone for a recomendation. I am suprised that you think it would be easier anywhere other than the US to get a job.

Colgan are hiring like crazy at the moment. Give Chuck Colgan a call. I bet he calls you back if you cant reach him the first time.

Similarly, Skywest are hiring. Call Camile Ence in recruiting there, her number is on the web site.

Dont give up on the land of milk and honey just yet....

Air Asia recruits through PARC aviation in Dublin for FOs..cost of type rating plues is 27500euros...hiring for FOs as we speak, they started the end of July and the selection process is on a "first come" basis (literally this is what the letter they sent me said)...so hurry up if you havent sent your application yet...application details on their website www.parcaviation.aero. good luck, i am still waiting.

i haven't heard any expat working in AirAsia..

but preferred license should be ICAO's..

malaysia is ICAO Signatory...



makes no difference since JAR is Under ICAO

morenof - when did Parc Aviation put that AirAsia job on their page?

Opening your link and then searching for Crewpositions does not show any Malaysian Carrier from the 13 job positions available.

Frenzy. Love the requirements such as "We demand the best from our pilots - Great commercial flying skills" etc etc.

What sheer spouting rubbish. How can a 250 hour newly graduated CPL with a brand new ticket have "Great commercial flying skills". On a Cessna 172 maybe?

it is not posted on their website...I find out by filling out their pilot application form online and requesting info about their B737 type...they sent me an email with the info i posted earlier about Air Asia with the application form for this scheme and how it basically works....800 euros for the preselection session, if you pass then you get the type and go to Bankgok or Kuala Lumpur with a salary of about 3000RD and a minimum commitment of 2000 hours.

Well girls and boys,

Is the grass really greener at LCCs. Or, is AirAsia and the other LCCs a little bit like a mud guard all shiny on the outside and full of crap on the inside.

Is the roster good and balanced ?

Are the training capts top notch (RMAF is a bit !!!!!)

The bald guy Naz_i seems a bit vacant?

That Chinny chin chin fellow well do we need to elaborate?

Mr. Fernandes, does he really love pilots or is it just cabin crew!!
(he only caves in when the pilots get really pissed but the really good ones are gone and going that leaves the RMAF)

DCA guys and their children/relatives join for free! (Now we are talking of real quality)

Do you really have to be really smart to manage an airline better than your competition in this region ?

Is a productivity bonus guranteed every year ?

What happens to your pay when you go on leave after flying 100 hrs a mth for 9 mths? (oops no sector pay)

High cycles and high hours is maintenance up to speed? really.

Where have all the engineers gone ? (The great ones gone and going)

OK you decide. Is this all crap or is this true.
