Hi guys,
I just received the email regarding the notification for my first interview. There are some puzzling things that i'm confused with. Is it normal for applicants to take a visual acuity eye-test with and without optical aid and colour vision test? I'm required to do that and produce the report on the actual day of the first interview. I'm also required to bring all my educational certificates and documents on that day too. Based on the previous information that was shared by fellow hopeful interviewees, i thought the educational certificates only come in on the second interview. I wonder if there is a change in the proceedings of the interviews. Any bros care to shed some light into this or your views? Any help is greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance!

Hi Humble,
I've just recently went through the first interview. You are required to produce your original copies of your certs and other qualifications on your first interview, as they need to endorse all the information on your application form.
As for your eye test, you can do it at the national eye center. it will cost you about 80 bucks, and the consultant will provide you with a written memo which is good enough for the first interview.
Cheers!

Hii Humble, Woohoooo WhiteOak.
Hii Humble,
You can do your eye check at almost any neighbourhood GP which cost less than 30 bucks. Just bring your email (u'll need this email to gain access to STC on the day of your first interview too) to the clinic attendant and they will be able to assist you. Not advisable to go polyclinic, coz I was told it will be a long wait + you'll have to see the doctor for consultation. Ermm... WhiteOak, I think National Eye Centre is not neccessary unless the GP refer you to them.
As for the documents, you'll need a copy of each and the original for verification purposes. 2nd interview is to top up whatever documents that had not been submitted. Stay calm and good luck!
COnGrats WhiteOak,
With your passion, you should be able to make it thru` 2nd round. Seeya soon dude!

Seems like every week there's some sort of interview. SIA is REALLY hiring.
Oak,
How was the round 2. Was it as what I said or format changed again?
By the way,
A question for Singaporean? Whay is it that min. age to apply is 26? Is it because of national service? I thought NS continues until one is 40 years old.

Hey Sandfiller,
Good to hear from you again.
My 2nd interview, they asked about everything under the sun (that you are weak in). I scored pretty low grades for my english, so they ask me what happened. Next thing will be, why didn't i make it through the airforce. then they started asking who is my instructor attached to me for all the phases. how to do a barrel roll, if you turn left, do you have to apply rudders? why? what type of fuel does an aircraft use. how does an S211 engine works? My 2nd interview took about 20 minutes. Rule of the thumb, they will always trying to hit your soft spot, making you feel vunlerable. Just stay your cool and give them an answer, no matter how much they try to destory you.
As for the age limit, what i've heard is that for Singapore, they RSAF wants the better pilots in their pool first, before releasing to SIA. (if you notice the age window for RSAF, it kinda work hand in hand with SIA).

Oak,
Perhaps, the interview style is the best way to get the real character of a person in a very short time. Anyway, do declare everything about yourself medical history to the doctor.
By the way, is Singaporean pilot exempted from NS duties/callups?
Well, hope to see you in class soon.

Dudes, I went for the 1st and final round of interview but was not called for the medical test.
Tot I did pretty well in the SIT test and tea party...couple of peers thought the same too. Well in fact I think I do know more than the required technical and general aviation stuffs...
Kinda reflected a little on why I wasn't selected. Think I was overly confident to the extend that I challenged the interviewer's opinion on certain aviation issues. Also, I think I was a little over enthusiastic during the tea party, pretty much domineering the group conversation?
Anyhow, does anyone know if SIA allows 2nd chance for applicants? I'm thinking of sticking ard in my job for the next 3 yrs and try reapplying. After all, people do mature and people change....?
For anyone who wants to know more abt the whole interview process (latest) do PM me. Not good to post all the intricate details over here I suppose.

Hi Forza,
Just stay cool, and read alittle on aviation. Focus on your body langauge and the way you present yourself. IMO, they are looking for someone who shows good interest in aviation and have a passion to join SIA.
Cheers!

Hello everyone!
This forum is beyond words! Its too good to be true with so many people sharing their experiences.
Hope you guys can shed some light regarding my application. I'm turning 25 in two months time. I intend to submit my application next week for I observe that SIA is truly trying to get intakes at present. I do not want to miss out on it.
What are your views? Will they even consider my application at all(the minimal age limit as you all know)?Looking forward to all your expertise view. Thanks truly!
