RTR(A)

how bout the RTR(A) mentioned...does that mean the ones with RTR(C) or (P) wnt b entertained..

cyrilroy21 12th Jan 2011 06:50

I dont think RTR (A), RTR ( C ) or RTR ( P )
should be a problem as long as you hold a valid RTR and and FRTOL
:ok:

VT-IDK 12th Jan 2011 06:57

but its given RTR(A) particularly...or is it like we assume what suits us the best...the way i think IR need not be current

cyrilroy21 12th Jan 2011 07:00

Well think of it this way

The application form was probably designed by their Human Resources Department.

They are aware of that an RTR license exists but may not be aware of the different categories like RTR(C) or RTR (P) or RTR (A)

I believe the privileges remain the same for all the three anyway...

Aviator4u 12th Jan 2011 07:53

@cyrilroy21
how abt current IR?

cyrilroy21 12th Jan 2011 07:57

Not sure about the current IR....:suspect:

However I guess you should try your luck and apply.

In the meantime you could go an renew your IR.

or

Your could renew your IR and then hope that by the time the dgca issues the renewal and the application window is still open since they havent mentioned a closing date.

You could also call Jet Airways HR and ask when the application window will close...

Rajat Bamba 12th Jan 2011 08:26

Lapsed IR should not be a problem.
my friends IR is lapsed and he had no issues summiting the form...

koolchaos3188 12th Jan 2011 08:48

any clue when is the exam?

VT-IDK 12th Jan 2011 09:36

@ Rajat Bamba

the problem with submitting is d form is over now buddy...by lapsed IR we are speculating if the lapsed IR ppl will get the call...

gupfup 12th Jan 2011 21:10

Help!

Hey guys, I have submitted my documents to DGCA in last month for issue of my license. I'm still awaiting the license, its been a month now and my file hasn't been opened yet (went to the licensing section in DGCA to check up). I saw the online application form too on the Jet website and noticed that you need to put in the details of your Indian CPL, IR, RTR etc. Is there anyway I could still apply because I don't want to miss out on this oppurtunity!

fly.low 13th Jan 2011 04:50

dude, i got my cpl issue in december end...it took 2.5months to get issue......

u can go today to DGCA, its open house today.........

tell dem about the job n talk to some clerk dere(clerks r very useful), he may help u to find ur file in their almirah n give that file to DG to issue ur license......

cyrilroy21 13th Jan 2011 13:24

I hope everyone has been able to apply by now :)

Those who havent should try again as they seemed to have fixed the error by now

Now anybody want to begin to speculate on the recruitment process
especially the following

1. Written Test
2. Group Discussion , Role playing etc
3. Interview
4. Sim test
5. Medical

If you have any info please do share it here especially those who had attended the previous assessment in August 2010.

I know that competition is really high and some people may not want to share information that they might have .
But please help out your fellow pilots and some day somebody else might do the same for you

Also more information on the following would also be welcome

Terms and Conditions

1. Cost of type rating ?
2. How long is the Bond if any ?
3. Salary paid during training and after being released on line :E
( take home pay before tax )?
4. Staff travel benefits :) ?
5. Gratuity Pay , End of service , Loss of License etc :)

All the best
:ok:

SuperflyTNT 13th Jan 2011 14:52

I think we should worry about T&C much later, being a trainee pilot in India with the current situation we really cannot demand much I fell, though it is unfair. Let's all try getting through the hurdle of getting through the written. Any in-sight on the exam dates and recruitment process would be much appreciated by all. Thank you

gAMbl3 13th Jan 2011 15:07

cost = 15 lac.....nd no bond

aadityaslg 13th Jan 2011 15:38

About August Assessment

HEY GUYS, the august assessment is still going on as i am left with my IPT which is scheduled next week, so recruitments are going on for so long from last exam.

Total 4 batches have been made and for 5th IPT and medicals are left.
I guess total of 90+ have been selected and last batch will also have 20+ odd pilots.
That means about 120 will be selected finally from last recruitment. A total of 2500 pilots appeared in written.

About new recruitment i guess written will happen in end feb or march.
:ok:

Pradeep747 13th Jan 2011 16:08

Exams likely by Feb 27th..

info from

http://igrua.gov.in/News/Jet%20Airways%20Selection.pdf

cyrilroy21 13th Jan 2011 16:41

@Pradeep 747

Hmmm....

Why would IGRUA ask their candidates to apply online and send a copy of the application to a particular Jet Airways employee...

Any preference for IGRUA graduates ?

@alpha.mike
Good Luck for the IPT :ok:
care to share the assessment process so far including the what was asked for the written an interviews ?

piper_cherokee 13th Jan 2011 16:43

The other thread http://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far...ssment-gd.html has a lot of information about the process.

Written
It had 5 different tests each lasted around 45 minutes if i remember correctly. And there was a break of 15 minutes between tests. There were 3 Aptitude Test papers and 2 Aviation Knowledge based. The 1st aptitude test had IQ based questions. The 2nd had Multiple Answer questions which were based on imagining and folding 2-D figures to make 3-D figures and then choose the correct options. Many people messed up in this one as they thought only 1 option was correct. The 3rd paper was kind of testing English where statements were given and matching option was to be chosen. The 2 Aviation based tests had 40% of technical questions based on Aerodynmics and other basic technical subject and 40% Navigation and 20% comprised of Met,Regs and 1-2 questions on Jet engine.

Group Discussion
There were 5 rounds again in this one.You were divided in teams(4 guys each team) and then each round you had 2 teams i.e., 8 guys sitting together and doing the discussion. The topics were all based on Aviation except one round . They had a debate for sure everyday. I had it on Fly by wire. Then they had one non aviation round based on Survival in case of Air crash in Mountains/Desert/island, and you were given a list of items and you had to decide and conclude that what priority will you give to each item. Then one round was on Air crash. Where you were given and Air crash report and you had to discuss and decide what caused the Air Crash.

Interview
They asked questions mainly from Technical and Performance part and a few personal questions. The panel had 3 pilots and 1 HR manager.

IPT
They make you do it on a Fixed Base Simulator or FTD for B737-400. Generally you are asked to fly VOR approaches, holdings, published missed approach and radial intercepts . All on VOR itself. No NDBs . Very few were asked to fly ILS approach. The examiner makes you read the approach plate briefing and fly at the same time. Not to worry about how to fly a 737. Everything is on Auto Pilot. You just need to change the heading and course knobs and let your examiner know about what altitude you want and he may ask you sometimes the ROD you want. You need to have RMI knowledge so practice that. Practice on Chennai,Mumbai,Ahmedabad,Delhi for sure.

That's all i can recall right now. Will update if i remember anything later.

All the best guys!! :ok:

cyrilroy21 13th Jan 2011 16:50

Big Thanks for the info Piper Cherokee :D

Could care to give a few sample questions asked during the interview ?

piper_cherokee 13th Jan 2011 16:57

In interview they asked about Flaps. Leading edge flaps, Trailing Flaps, their functions, Swept back wings, their advantages, disadvantages, mach no., critical mach no. , Mach trim. In performance V1,V2, screen height , and in what condition it changes .ASDA,TORA,TODA etc.It lasted for just about 20-25 mins.

VT-ASM 13th Jan 2011 16:57

If the assessments take that long...
I run the risk of lapsing my ratings.....:ugh::ugh:

fly.low 13th Jan 2011 17:25

is it important to send a copy to shreekant bhagwat or sachin tandon?

Pradeep747 13th Jan 2011 17:30

i would not send the email to anyone as the info is not for us...imagine 5000 applicant sending email to HR...he will go mad.so its better not to mess things up...so we will do wat is asked from us...

fly.low 13th Jan 2011 18:57

piper_cherokee

piper_cherokee 13th Jan 2011 19:08

@fly.low

Hopefully soon i will be. :)

Iver 13th Jan 2011 19:29

Pardon my random question (perhaps out of place), but what makes Jet Airways a more attractive place than Kingfisher, Spicejet, Indigo, etc. if (and a big IF) you had multiple opportunities? Just curious as to why someone would be specifically interested in Jet Airways vs. others (pros and cons).

Thanks for any insights.

planeboy_777 14th Jan 2011 10:33

@cyrilroy21
IGRUA and NFTI candidates were told by JET airways to submit their Resume's through their E-mail.

cyrilroy21 14th Jan 2011 10:46

There will be a few questions based on engines so be prepared for the same.

For the rest of you...
You can practice Aptitude and IQ test online such as 'Lumosity' and
also there a numerous free applications on face book...

Here are a few that i use on face book

Brain Buddies
Ultimate IQ

For multi tasking test use this
Play Multitask, a free online game on Kongregate

For all the above tests dont be disheartened if you dont do good at first as it takes some time to get used to it and keep practicing :ok:
