@ruu_1982 @autobrakes3
This reminds me of a hearsay from one of our ground school instructors: an ex-doctor, best cadet from cse9x. During graduation, he gave a great speech which you may want to use as reference: "I became a doctor for 10 years to please my parents... Now, I'm a SQ pilot to please myself." I'll give the same advice as @autobrakes3: To be honest and truth. No point trying to find the "perfect answer"... you will :ugh: into many walls as you try to find another "perfect answer" to cover your first one... Remember, you're not the first candidate... neither are you the last... Good luck! :ok: |
hmm....its been a long wait.lol.
|
@ruu_1982: Like @TinyBrain and @autobrakes3 said, just be honest and tell them why you want to do the switch. Anyway, with just 2+ years of working they probably won't grill you as much.
@nt.pilot: Unfortunately the answer is no. It doesn't matter whether you're eligible or even invited to become a PR, you've got to get your PR first before they even consider you for an interview. @autobrakes3: Actually, first generation PR don't have to serve NS. Their sons have to though. |
hi

Age Limit
Hey guys,
I applied for the cadet pilot posting in feb and i just turned 24. Ya guys think it still might be ok? I applied for SAF Pilot before and didn't get through. so yeah.. Thanks ;) |
well i've heard them taking in people younger than 25,so it might be a possibility.But this was like before last year,and they reduced the intake this year,so i'm not sure what their policies are now.Either way, if you get the interview,just do your best,and see how it goes.Don't know if that helped.Cheers!:ok:

Hey guys,
I'm just asking if anyone of you has the same qualifications as I do. The admission criteria states that one needs to have 5 GCE 'O' Levels credits and well, sad to say, I've only got 3. However, I've noticed the importance of studies recently and am planning to go for my Bachelors (Hons) in Business Administration. I currently am holding a Diploma in Business Administration and a Diploma in Law. Does this mean that I still can't apply for the post of Cadet Pilot due to my GCE 'O' Levels results or it is not that important? I tried applying for the post and when it came to the question on 'Do you have at least 5 GCE 'O' Levels credits?', I clicked no and I think that is the reason why I got rejected immediately at the webpage. Anyway, do you think I should go for Bachelors (Hons) in Business Administration of Bachelors in Aviation Management. Kinda in a dilemma right now because if I go for the former, that is when I don't get to be a pilot, at least I still have Business to fall back on. However, does a Bachelors in Aviation Management give some sort of an advantage to Cadet Pilot applicants? Btw, I'm 23 this year. Please advise. |
@Nphl,
CAAS requirements: 3.13 What qualifications will I need to apply for the initial issue of a Singapore Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)? i) You must not be less than 18 years old (CPL) and 21 years old (ATPL) ii) You must pass at least five subjects at the GCE 'O' Level including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject. iii) Pass a Singapore Class 1 initial medical with a CAAS DME The short answer to yr first question: Yes, you can apply again but you will be rejected. As for your second question, it is a straight No. It does not give you an advantage over others. All applicants are treated the same. If I could give a small piece of advice, just study something that you are really interested in. Do not waste time and effort putting yourself through a course just because someone told you it will give you a headstart. I'm not trying to be a wet blanket but the chances of an applicant getting through to the cadet pilot stage is less than 10%. You don't want to find yourself regretting the decision to study something ya never liked. |
Hmm, well, thanks for the reply. I was somewhat hoping for an exclusion to some of their requirements like the GCE 'O' Levels. Looks to me I've got to retake my O's again. Hopefully, I'll get through next year. :)
|
I have never seen a adult in his 20's or 30's retake their O level Examinations. Is it a common thing in Singapore?
|
No one getting call up for 1st interview? I think they have ended 1st interview for this season. Maybe we have to wait 3 months later for the next season. What you guys think? :)
|
Hey Guys, read probably almost all the pages. Can feel the excitment from all of you guys. Can't help but suck in some of the emotions and got me all excited too.
Sent in my application today. Hope to hear a reply soon. :) What was the fastest anyone got called up for an interview after sending it the application? :) SC |
are there even seasons?lol.
|
Think I read somewhere in the pages, or is it from another site. That interviews are carried out first Friday of every month? Oh well.. i guess no need to think too much, just wait for a reply. :)
|
Well I guess not. But it doesn't look like I've got a choice.
