First you say :
and then , you say :
So, you have painstakingly gone to all the thousands of flying schools in USA and seen everything for yourself and compared it with your IGRUA ?
Typical "frog in the well" attitude of an Indian trainee.
On the contrary, any monkey or jack-ass can be made to study or as they say in India .. "Mug-pass" theory subjects and exams. Which is precisely why you have so many DGCA exams "coaching centers". Even the most stupid idiots can pass these papers (CPL or ATPL) if they are given the right material and notes and made to memorize certain formulas and points.
The smart students (regardless whether they trained in USA/Canada/Aus/India etc) will anyway pass the papers without much hassles.
Flying on the other hand requires aptitude and motor-skills.
Whether in flying schools in India, or in airlines, most of the pilots coming from Indian schools lack basic flying skills.
And no .. Im not talking about a single engine ILS with 15 kt crosswinds, or flying the airplane on raw data.
Disengage the autopilot when any average Indian pilot (one who trained in India/IGRUA) and it's entertainment !
Even with Flight directors, they are barely able to fly a jet airplane straight and level for more than a few seconds.
Lets not even get into steep turns, constant airspeed climbs, descents, intercepting a localizer course, basic stall recovery etc.
And all this in a simulator without any other distractions like R/T, cockpit scans and checklists etc. !!! PATHETIC !
If any of you "IGRUAN"s bother to read about accidents in Aviation history, then you'll perhaps understand that what saved the day in all those cases was good airmanship and flying skills of the crew, and not whether the Captain or FO had passed his CPL/ATPL papers and RT exams in one attempt.
For starters :
1. Fedex Flight 705
2. United airlines flight 232
3. Air canada flight 143
4. air transat flight 236
And you wont get it unless u personally visit igrua and see for yourself....
I know how the training done in usa ....faa question banks...flying done 4-8 months....
Seriously ....
Seriously ....
And then you take 4-6 attempts to clear your dgca...then again sepnd money for recency and all....
But it dosent matter if u can fly an aircraft or not ....even a monkey can learn that...
What matters is your knowledge....so keep on studying...

well i have personally experienced their flying..we used to fly in the same airspace in VAGD..
trust me man utter bullst flying
they fly in formation on the Daimonds
every year you'll see a crashed aircraft in VAGD ..they dont stick to their SOP's
and i remember once a foolish guy from IGRUA practicing maneuvers on the Live side.
didn't managed to hear the runway change Mann.
if you consder NFTI's standard
Every aircraft in NFTI has an FDR flight data recorder..
(records EGT, CHT,RPM,Attitude, speed,vs,height, hdg, crs, frequncy slected,co-ordinates,etcetc, in every 1 min)
they embedd this data in Google earth in 3D.
the instructors debrief's us after each sortie

I'm sure if it was even a hard landing damaging the aircraft there would have been a DGCA inquiry and a report put up on the DGCA website. There is only till date.
But I'm pretty impressed with the tracking on google 3D part of NFTI. I have never heard of such a thing before.

it was a relief to know that it could b done within the stipulated time frame..
anyways what would be the optimum batch to start (sep or dec), if given a choice?

Fdr at igrua
Da 40 aircraft present at igrua has all the technology mentioned above like fdr, google tracking etc...in addition to da 40 you will also find aircrafts like tb 20 and zlin which is no where present in india except for igrua...tb 20 is a complex aircraft cause it has auto pilot and retractable landng gear....

air india
all those pruners who are showing hatred towards air india and igrua (because they have placements in the national carrier)..i want to ask one think
if air india comes up with any openings for cpl holders...will u guys apply for that...
i mean would you prefer sitting at home instead of getting delayed salaries..
and would you prefer sitting at home instead of getting less than 50 hours a month..
looking at the current situation of private airlines except for jet airways ..are you sure that you will be recruited by them...
scam jet....20000 fees for exams already rigged
kingfisher ...all back door entries
go air...hiring type rated pilots
indigo...exams too hard to clear for most..so leave it
so where do u want to go huh...

Quick question to those who flew in IGRUA , NFTI or any other flying school in India
What charts do you refer to when planing and flying your VFR cross countries ?
Any idea where I can buy these charts ?

and even NOTAM.
but every 28 days you'll have to update the software.

A lot of you not just the ones who are here but others who are trying to get the first job are very bitter about the fact that AI has taken students from IGRUA straight onto the big ones. I knew if this happened it would create disappointments among many who are trying hard but AI has been hiring fresh ones out of IGRUA for many many years and it will keep on doing it regardless of what people think or moan about that. I also suspected a growing hatred for IGRUA and now its no more of a suspicion matter, indeed a lot has started hating on IGRUA but the fact will still remain that it is one of the top flying schools in India, you should go in it to experience it.
I know many of you are in very desperate and hard situations but some of you are taking it too far without knowing any facts which is basically wasting your time.

igrua is a good flying school but that does not give igruans license to look down on the people from other flying schools , this attitude has to go ........
"BEST IN THE WORLD"--------what nonsense ask expats in other non asian forums , do they know OXFORD or IGRUA truth will come out
may be next time EMIRATES will come to igrua for road shows that they have been carrying all over north America
