It's not just the CAE candidates, us type rated candidates are also on hold. Still waiting for our sim checks more than a month after interview.

At least consider yourselves lucky to have one foot through the door.

joining after type rating from CAE

As of today the candidates currently in CAE and the one who will be leaving for their TR will easily have to wait for a year for their induction. My friends with type endorsement from november are still waiting . I have a feb endorsement.

@holding short

when you say one year, you mean it is delayed by one year or will they continue with our recruitment and only send us for the tr after one year?

Its been nearly 2 months since I have returned from my type rating after the indigo selection process, theres a massive backlog due to kf pilots, its slowing the process of induction for everyone. No sim check yet for our batch and 2 batches before us!

AviatorVette,

Is your type rating still valid then? Not sure about the Indian DGCA rules.. But elsewhere when you do a ZFT type rating you have to commence line training within a specified time (shortly afterwards)

Otherwise you must return to the simulator for further training

question ... radio altimeter errors...

hello guys,

could anyone tell me what exactly constitute as radio altimeter errors?

i could think of band interference at ht more than 2500agl
and possibly errors in height display when on ground because they are designed to compensate for indicating height of main gear above runway in landing configuration so they display negative altitude sometimes on ground

are there more?
