Those who applied July 10-20

hey all, a while ago i read some of the posts and i know that there were a few people who hadnt heard back from CX. Now im wondering if any of you have indeed had response from CX?
I applied on the 18th and I havent heard anything yet but I also know that theyre quite busy with interviews this week and it probably depends on whos made it through to the next stages before they continue.
So before I start stressing that my times going to run out I'd just like to know if im not alone in this?!
thanks guys

I been reading a lot of similar comments in regards to when people can expect a response after applying for the CPP. It seems some people are under the impression that you should expect a response or invite to interview fairly soon after you apply.

I think it's fair to assume that the vast majority of applicants will not receive any response at all. If you can appreciate that everyone and their dog from around the world has likely applied for this new program, there are probably thousands upon thousands of applications on file.

Traditionally for the DESO/DEFO routes, some people have continuously applied for years and still not had a response.

This isn't meant as a rant, rather to add some perspective and perhaps ease some stress from your life. Don't bank on receiving a response, continue living your life and pursuing your goals. If you do indeed get a reply, consider yourself in the extreme minority of applicants!

Best of luck.

like island said, patience. had a friend wait 7 years before getting the call for DEFO (granted not all of those years were good for hiring in general).

i subimitted my application for the programme on the 21st july(1 day out don't hurt me !!!) and just checking back on the email I received after submitting it says "You will be notified of the application outcome in 8 weeks". [giving me one month]

now usually job applications say that if you don't hear from us in X weeks then you have been unsuccessful so are they just saying that or does it usually mean they will let you know either way? has there been anyone where that line didn't appear?

CX FAQ's

hi boquera, it's in the CX FAQ's:

"Cadet Pilot applicants who do not hear from us within eight weeks may consider their application unsuccessful."

Running out of patience.....

COngrats DR, best of luck with that. You July guys are still ok. I applied on the 3rd june, the same day they changed the criterion for citizenship. Still no response. I've lost all hope and assume by now that I havent been shortlisted and hey, life goes on. The thing is that I cant reapply again on the website because apparently my 'application is being processed'. Does anyone know how much time it takes for an application to be 'un-processed' so to speak, before we can re-apply, assuming we were rejected.

cheers mach. the only thing about that page is it seems to be from 2005 so it may have changed and they may have the courtesy to actually let you know now!

well lets hope anyway as applying for jobs is a bit difficult with waiting for a decision hanging over your head!

Hey Darkrampage,

Congrats man! 2 months is actually pretty impressive!

Can you share your FG experience? Which one did you do?

Many thanks and all the best!

Hey congratulations DR, well done. Just wondering anyone with some prior flying experience have been selected for the interviews yet? (I have a CPL and I am wondering if Cathay takes candidates with prior experience on for the cadetship?

Cheers and good luck everybody.

Congratulations to darkrampage!!

I applied on the 21st July and have not heard whether i am through to the interview stage. I have had email contact with the recruitment team and their response states that applications are only reviewed prior to the interview stage in each geographic location as opposed to their website which says you'll hear back in eight weeks. Therefore i assume that unless interviews are being held on a very regular basis then all of us who applied in Jul/Aug may have to wait a while to hear back.

Has this been anybody else's experience and does anyone know when Cathay are planning to interview again in Europe??

My 8 weeks finished a few days ago and I never received a response. I'm going to continue with my plan to earn my ratings early next year. I would be happy to get an interview, but I'm not counting on it at this point.
