I did the exact same thing, except I've been working as an instructor for a little bit and now have around 315 hours. Let us know if you get in later, it would be interesting to see.

Yes Wombat test was hard... actually the hardest test.
We can't tell more about it sorry, it is very complicated to explain by writing. You can't prepare. Just relax and enjoy. Do your best. I played video games before, a lot, it did not help me at all... so... you have the ability or not... lol
I took stage 1, 15 days ago. No reply... hope is a good sign...

I did it 13 days ago! Also waiting and indeed, hope its a good sign :P

Wombat was quite hard, but at the same time very fun! I guess you should see it as a game and not be to stressed..

Though its hard to know how you performed, and what the "average point" is for ppl doing it.

Good luck!

@ Optimus: Yeah, I just did the interview in NYC

Re: Reasoning Test:
It's based on the Raven's Progressive Matrices. No real way to prepare for it. You could always just do some brain teasers or look up some tests similar to the Raven's test. I think some people have posted links on it already, but it's kind of like this: http://www.iqtest.dk/main.swf

@ Roxy re: Wombat test:
You can't really prepare for it. Just read the wombat test and what it consists of. A good 'ol google search should give you more info. Check the aero website for details and a candidate guide. WOMBAT-CS Test Scenario (Complex Systems Operator)

Study Materials

For those of you going through Stages 1-3, or for people waiting to hear that want to study up, I spent some time taking all of the flash cards that I had made and putting them into a word document. It's got info on Cathay, tech questions asked during interviews, and info on Hong Kong.

If you'd like a copy of it, just PM your email address to me and I will send it right out. Good luck to everyone and congrats to everyone who has passed any stage.

(Please keep in mind this info was updated as of Dec 2009 and early 2010. It may need a little tweaking)

Have people here actually been invited to Stage 1 in London in July?

I sent my initial application last November and haven't received an invite yet.

Regards,

Mike

@ Joycekin

I'm currently waiting for a reply. I can hardly keep my nerves under control right now.

I assume you are as well?

Joyce, I'm a local applicant and have been waiting for their response for the past 6 months. That being said though, this is my second application and they know I am in Australia until next week.

A couple of hours ago, I received an email from HR inviting me to a Stage 1 interview in HKG. They did not specify a date for the interview, which I suppose will be determined after I tell them when I will return to HKG.

I waited 6 months and 1 week for this email.
