CX logbooks

Hey i am looking for advice right now to help me in the future when i look to find a job @ Cathay. I have a question about logging my time to see if this will affect my chances. Ok here it is: I was wondering if Cathay will accept time logged such as they do in the United States at certain flight schools as a "saftey pilot" (one under the hood and one saftey pilot)..as in where two pilots are legally able to log the time as PIC. If you are flying in the states im sure that most of you know of this taking place and i want to know how it will affect me in teh future before i start to train using this method.

Has anyone logged time under this method and got a job at Cathay? Thanks in advance for your help!

Cant do that in Australia, 2 PIC??? No Way.
Its a bit like the ICUS situation here by the sound of it.
Play it safe and get REAL hours. Build time consistently, get a decent job with progression, and KEEP updating!!!

Good Luck.

Yea its not allowed in Canada either where i did all my training/licenses. I am just asking now because quite a few places in the states do this and it has to be legit since they do it under their rules if you are FAA licensed (see "ari ben aviator")...i am a dual citizen (Canadian/American) and will be converting all my licenses in December and i would like to log everything to benifit(under both systems..Canadian/FAA) me as best as possible, however i dont want to log stuff that will hurt me later on. I would have a total of 25hours logged this way if i did it....

Can any Americans that have done this and moved on to Cathay give me insight on the issue?

p.s thanks for the comment Jag.

Remember that logging flighttime as you describe is perfectly legal in the US which is an ICAO member so it can't be denied by any other ICAO state, so log it! When it comes to a company, it is of course a different deal. But by the time you get to HKG it would nost likely be a very minor portion of your flight experience and you did nothing wrong, just be aware that they might decide to not count those hours. use it to build time for your first job in the US, then fly and build time for CX.
I stand to be corrected

I did some multi-time flying at Ari-Ben a few year back. Logged it just like you describe, and no one at CX has questioned it. Like others have said, by the time you get to the interview, it is going to be such a minor part of your time, I don't think it will make any difference at that point. I am also open to corrections.
